I dont see where he's going with the "car going faster cos it's going up hill".. The engine will be going faster cos it's doing more work, but there's no reason why the car should be going any faster.

If you don't break the speed limits then they'll take their money grabbing elsewhere.

Do these people think that accidents only happen on bad, narrow roads?

Also, if you're speeding you're speeding, this one seems to suggest that sometimes speeding is ok. It isn't busybody.

I just have a vision of the kilkenny lad getting his speeding ticket in the post and in the accompanying speed photo it's just a picture of him running up the hill

Has Rodger an owl in his car?

  • Registered Users Posts: 21,886 ✭✭✭✭Roger_007

These are known as 'gotcha' speed traps. There is often one at the airport roundabout on the M1 catching cars coming from the airport on to the M1. There has never been a serious accident there.

The Sat Nav is great for telling you when you are speeding. Thought it starts asking me for directions at the new junctions on the N7 and N8

Well, if the Lacken Hill one is catching 1600cc turboed fanny-magnets driven by testosterone-fuelled young wans with lead feet, I don't see the problem. It would make up for the tax-dodging.
