No need to mention where he lives.

We'll be able to read it in The Star tomorrow anyway.

Well, Mrs. Duffy has probably considered the annualised lotto win that Joe is on and thought to herself "for that I'll put up with the oul' nark". ;)

people find it hard to to buy a raffle ticket for their local sports clubs not to mention fork out 100 or 200 to win a buy-to-let property

Are Joes researchers actual researchers or does he employ the 3 twins to play angry birds all day?
A HOMEOWNER IS trying to break the property market deadlock by selling his house to the lowest bidder.

Rob Reynolds owns this five-bedroom, four-bathroom house in Mullingar, Co Westmeath. He now lives in Germany with his wife and told TheJournal.ie yesterday evening that the economic circumstances in Ireland at the moment have forced him to find a novel way to shift the property.

Anyone remember Barney Curley's raffle ?

Not content with just one hilariously brilliant scam, Curley went on to make a career out of it. He raffled off his mansion home in 1984 to circumvent a terrible housing market by selling raffle tickets for $270 apiece, setting a minimum of 2,000 before the raffle would take place (he wound up selling over 8,000). The deal was attractive because a person could theoretically wind up purchasing a mansion for less than $300. Meanwhile, Curley guaranteed himself a healthy sale simply by collecting the sum of all the tickets sold. When the raffle finally went down, he'd sold over $2 million worth of tickets, which is so fantastically genius that we want to punch his face for being such a magnificent bastard.

For those who don't. Curley is an Irish professional gambler. The mansion above is Middleton house in Co Westmeath.

The tickets were sold for IR £200 and the raffle was launched live on the Late Late Show by Gay Byrne.
