Thats very easy to say. The buck stops at the minister but the haddington road agreement precludes health staff from facing pay cuts. So what do you propose he does?
FF didnt just poison the chalice they crapped in it as well.

    Rip up that agreement.
The government is supposed to represent all the citizens, not just listen mostly to those who work for it.
The HSE should be disbanded on 1 January, wages reduced and power resting with a core board in the Dept of Health.

This couples income is over €60,000. What exactly is his complaint exactly?
I'd put money on it that they are able to pay for VHI.

Just what the conversation needs, advice from a former Fianna Fail councilor

  • Registered Users Posts: 4,151 ✭✭✭kupus

Fianna fail made the unions so powerful they are basically untouchable now. Both as a voting bloc and a way of life.
Here is the thing, in the past Ireland needed unions cos of ahole employers but now....there is so much law dealing with employers and employees that unions are not needed, but are actively holding the HSE back. ... They are a mini industry within the health industry. its sickening what they can do.

I worked for one head union guy once, and little do the card carrying members know, but he couldnt give a highland fuc about the little peoples problems.

HSE cannot be streamlined due to unions, so of course they have to get rid of medical cards, services.
But hey at least the union guys have jobs.

I've said it before on here, Joe has direct dial access to every Fianna Fáil Cumann around the country. They probably pay for the lines too.

Imagine that, modernisation of systems in order to streamline services and reduce costs. This old dodderer would like to see a different person doing every little thing again, one to load the type writer, another to type, a third to put the letter in an envelope and so on.

Anyone on a 30,000+ a year State Pension should get nothing

Joe's salary means he effectively wins the lotto around every 3 years.

There would be a lot of envelopes in any FF-designed system.

Laughable having a GP on to complain about the medical cards when the GPs once threatened to refuse service to medical card holders as part of strike action.
