Caller is correct. Secondary schools have always had a half day on Wednesday.

Nobody told me and my teachers. Great, I've a pile of time in lieu on the way to me. What's the statute of limitations on it, is 20 years too long ?

Is this just for secondary schools? I presume any 13 year old could amuse themselves for 3 hours until the parents come home.

In my school it finished 40 minutes early. I wouldn't call that a half day.

Why doesn't she stay in the school to do her correcting a prep?

My secondary school was 9-4 m-f

God love her working extra hours for nothing. She's doing drama in these hours, sounds like something she enjoys. Many in the private sector work all these extra for nothing too, and doing stuff they don't particularly like.

not in my day they didnt.

fecking 8.30 to 3 every day for me.

in fact with the supervised study i was in till 5.

TBH im not surprised its come to this now though. looking at my neices education they seemed to get at least one day a month off every month and that didnt happen in my day either so it just looks like an evolution of that.

Those nails need to be filed in case he gets a nasty paper cut when counting his €500 notes later.

    She is so a teacher!

  • Registered Users Posts: 53,028 ✭✭✭✭ButtersSuki

My school was 8:45-4 m-f, but most other schools in my area had a half day per week (most had Wed, but some had Fridays). Certainly in cities, half days are not unusual.

    Differentiation, common practice in England

She needs to update her skills
