Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Good fan or portable air cooler

    I'd like to get something to cool the apartment. I've looked at portable air cooling units on amazon and argos.ie, but they get mixed reviews at best. On the other hand, some of the higher-end fans get very good reviews.

    I'm not certain that indicates the fans are better at cooling a room, or if people just rate them as fans, and expect more of the air coolers. Has anyone used a portable air cooler, and how did you find it?

    I'm not interested in getting a fixed air conditioner, as I rent an apartment, and may not stay here long term.

    I have the Bionaire BT150R Tower Fan and it is fantastic. I've had other fans in the past but this is by far the best I've ever had. Its 30 degrees here right now and the fan is still pumping out blissfully cold air while in another room my other fan is churning out less warm air than the general environment but its not cool.

    I bought my fan in January on amazon and it was 50 euro. I'm sure prices have rocketed but if you spot the bionaire on anywhere I'd say get it.
