Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

    Hi all,
im struggling to cover the costs of sky packages every month(digital + with sky sports and espn) through UPC and was wondering if I should ditch UPC and get an apple TV set up and just watch my TV content through the broad band? I have xbmc and navi x on my mac book and there are some 'interesting' add-ons ive come across.
    any advice would be welcomed.
    Thanks

Who's going to supply your broadband if you dump UPC? You certainly wouldn't want to be relying on Eircom to provide a BB service to allow you to watch TV. I think we all know what you mean by 'interesting' add-ons so the usual disclaimers apply, you could get cut off at any stage and you'll be left high and dry with no service.

For the regular Irish and UK channels you could consider Freesat (satellite dish) in combination with Saorview (TV aerial) which would allow you to watch a large number of UK & Irish channels (but obviously not including Sky sports) for free.

In that case you'd be as well off keeping a basic digital TV service from UPC. There is a charge of some kind for BB without TV (or maybe it's a 'discount' on the BB if you have it with TV - same difference) so you needn't think that you can simply deduct the TV charge from the bill in order to work out how much you will save.
