Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Wow anyone see the goal we conceded against villa on bt, Ramsey was woeful just jogging back making no effort, that's a part of his game I hate and can't understand because he will chase a ball all day long.

It's nearly as anti Arsenal as RTE...

They actually had tony Adams on a fake pitch with real players and a goalie explaining the goal we conceded last week and how we could have dealt with it better, he was shouting orders
at the players as if he was playing, a little bit of me died inside.

It was I recorded halfway through it couldn't believe what I was seeing, all the players lined up like last week, goal posts goalie the lot, then Adams in kos position showing what he should have done and shouted at the players.

Though it's been bungled, particularly with the cases of Higuain & Suarez, one overriding positive about the transfer market this season is the calibre of players Arsenal are chasing.

People have been pissed off with Spurs spending but Higuain, Suarez, Bender, Di Maria, Benzema are all well beyond the talent they're bringing in.

Now only if a couple of them would actually sign.

At this point, and I really think I'm accurate with this one ...

The worst case scenario is lots of squad players on deadline day

While the best case scenario is really good

Seems like your just bigging up Arsenal's targets to make yourself feel better.

Soldado is of the same standard as Higuain.

I'm a big fan of Lars Bender, but question how much you've seen of him. As well, Spurs have midfielders of equal quality to him in Dembele and possibly Paulinho in the center midfield area.

IF they go on to sign Lamela like many expect them too, Lamela isn't far away from Di Maria and is around 4 years younger. Just needs to find a bit more consistency. He is more talented than Di Maria, but Di Maria thumps him statistically. It does help playing for the biggest club in football alongside Ronaldo though, and again like with Lars, I'm a fan of Di Maria.

Lamela could very well go onto be their Suarez, albeit not as big of an eejit too. Call it blind faith if you wish, I'm just basing it on numerous games I've seen.

    Heh,

I take your point but potential does not always cut it. We as Arsenal fans know this.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying they haven't signed well but just that our sights are set higher.

BTW: if there was ever a player destined to come off the bench and have some Arsenal clowning around make him look great, it's Bent.

Giroud with 3 in his opening 3... Who says ye need a striker ;)

Also, I'd rather sign Lamela than Di Maria if it were my club !

Ive seen very little of Lamela but Im a big fan of Di Maria and think he would be a great signing. What would the ballpark fee for Lamela be?

I'd rate Di Maria too and he is currently better than Lamela but I just think Lamela will go on to be better than him in the near future and he'd bring something different.

€30-35m would be enough I'd imagine

I'll take either. Beggars can't be choosers at this stage.

Actually, wonder where Benjani is knocking about this weather? :pac:

    CF, CMF, CB.

Very happy with that performance. Ramsey and Cazorla were just immense in Midfield, controlled It.

Now add Cabaye, Di Maria and Benzema please!

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,756 ✭✭✭emergingstar

Bar a scandalous referee performance it would be a good start to the season

One or two others just to make it a stronger squad as well. But come the 2nd if the team is improved greatly then bring on the season.

Ramsey man of the match again

He did well but I thought Cazorla was brilliant today. Absolutely fabulous to watch. His ability to get out of tight spots and find the perfect pass is a joy.

You cant tackle him when hes on that form.

didnt manage to see the second half, any chance of Cazorla getting a bonus point?

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,756 ✭✭✭emergingstar

    Rest most on Tuesday

But 2 more players during the week

    Smash spurs next Sunday

Was anyone else really impressed with Sanogo? :-D

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 12,751 ✭✭✭✭AdamD

Cabaye not in the squad again today, surely that move is imminent.

    Great win.

Great hope for this group of players but they need a bit of extra class to help them out no doubt.

We had enough chances even with ten men to beat Villa last week but injuries and poor refereeing along with a clinical Villa performance on the day went against us.

Back in contention. Make those signings now Arsene and lets put it up to the contenders

Maybe, probably Pardew doesn't want a player that's not 100% right on the field.
