very recently you are probably right, long term I'd guess they have spent a fair bit more than us. Over the years they've proven they can get big deals done.

Now I think of the few big money players they have bought over the years Rooney/Ferdinand/Veron/Berba they probably have spent a fair bit more than us. I dunno if I could put Anderson and Nani in that bracket, though I have a feeling they cost €30m between them. It wouldnt surprise me if that very is way off.

I was talking this pre-season. I'm well aware that they have spent more than us over the years. Everyone has!

Maybe we are coming to the end of our tether and we want to see a few quality acquisitions, players that will come straight into the club and immediately strengthen our starting XI.

Spurs haven't signed Soldado yet.

If we take the reports as true, then we have signed Higuain already.

That being said, he may very well sign for them but there is no way that it can be called a finished deal, especially after all the "Reports" Arsenal fans have seen this Summer.
