Hi. Has anyone had any experience of withdrawing some (not all) money from a term loan savings account. In the T & C s it says no withdrawals allowed but KBC can at their discretion allow a withdrawal. I 'phoned and was told, by a lady on the helpline thet it was never ever possible.. Account expires on 15th August. We have a very valid reason. We need the money last week in July. Has anybody any idea what the penalties would be? We are good customers of KBC. Would there be any point in going into the bank. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank You

Obviously you will need to run your reason by them, as it is totally at their discretion. But with other institutions i have seen that they may allow withdrawals in the event of terminal illness, death of one party or bankruptcy.

15 August 2013 is very soon, can you get a loan for a few weeks? or use the credit card for a few weeks?

Alternatively, go into them. You need a good sob story to be allowed an early exit. Be strong. Be emotional. Talk to management.

Thank you all for your replies. Thankfully none of the above applies. We want to close a sale end July otherwise we have to wait until end August as Solicitor is going on holiday. We have been renting for 12 months so another month won't be the end of world.
