    The man escaped from Reading Gaol to command the Western Division during the 1916 Rising.

    He was elected as TD to the first Dail in 1918.

    He was executed by pro-treaty forces in 1922, even though he had an opportunity to escape but declined on principle.

    As well as naming the Renmore Army Barracks after him, there is also a statue of him in Eyre Square.

    Google don't think too much of poor Liam however. If you look at their map of Eyre Square, and zoom onto his statue in the Northern corner of the square, they are calling our hero a BABOON
