Does anyone know where I could get a sample letter of intent that would be suitable for use in an Irish context. The letter is going to a professional that a company is planning to employ and is just a stop-gap while a detailed contract is being drawn up. There is time pressure to get the project moving so the letter of intent needs to go off tomorrow.

I think you are looking at a "heads of agreement" type document to be signed by both parties. Typically this would cover both the known terms and clearly identify those items that are yet to be agreed.
