Dancing, eating, drinking, shows, gigs, on your own, with a date, in a group, what? Give the regulars something to work with.

Maybe a cheap and cheerful eat and then bars and clubs

for food, have a look at www.cheapeats.ie and www.menupages.ie

but crackbird would be one of many options!

for your bars and clubs, have a look at www.entertainment.ie and search Wednesdays, also www.dublineventguide.com is fantastic for listings.

Am I the only one who doesn't 'get' Crackbird? It's just very expensive chicken, hardly something to write home about.

The Mezz is a great place to finish a mid week night out. Always hopping, live music and good crowd. Doesn't get busy til 11 or so though I think.

Cafe Bliss on Montague Street (between Harcourt Street and Wexford Street) is great for cheap and cheerful. They do an early-bird for €9.95, but even their a la carte menu is super cheap (I've had starters and main in there for less than €15). Simple but tasty food. Best of all it's BYO (wine or beer) and they don't charge corkage.

You've loads of nearby places to head afterwards. Whelan's on Wexford Street plays brilliant music (if you're into indie/rock), has a good atmosphere even during the week, and opens late.
