Facebook doesn't have a definite answer for this so I said I'd try here. Its seems to me that if I send a certain number of friend requests to random people that I'll be blocked for 48 hours(which has already happened). I think if this happens again, that I'll be blocked from sending requests for a lot longer(which I can't afford). My question is what is the number of people facebook allows ones to send friend requests to in one day? And has the limit now changed given that I have already been blocked.

It seems to be okay though to when I send requests to people I may know.. or people that are suggested by facebook. It there are limit here too? Can I keep sending out as many requests as I want to people in the "find friends" section???? I need to gather more friends for my events page???

Random people probably don't give a shit about your events page. I'm glad facebook blocked it.

That would be spamming and it's not how Facebook is intended to be used.

People don't want requests from people they just don't know.

If you're promoting your page, pay for it, like others do.

just stop sending random friend requests.
    nobody likes that.

    nobody.

There is no definitive answer, all it takes is for 1 or 2 people to report your invites as spam & you get a ban, happens to fb gamers all the time

What is your big hurry to add lots of people? Is it a personal page or a business page. Either way it's the wrong way to do it. Facebook will block you if your adding a suspicious number of people you don't know, most likely because you could be a spammer.

Ive an account with 3k+ friends (just for playing games on it, silly requests ruined them all) and you get blocked for a week then a month iirc. Easiest way to get there is to put your picture as a popular game and have lots of keywords for games in your profile, it's pretty easy once you get it going. People will add you instead that way

Pretty sure the max friends is around 5k

Facebook profiles are for people rather than events, so if they see suspicious activity they'll block you, i.e. you sending out a bunch of requests to people who are not accepting. They'll most likely delete your profile if you keep doing it as it's against their rules.

The Facebook Page functionality was set up for promoting events, bands, etc, but obviously you can't request friends with it, so you're stuck with looking for a different way to promote your events. Realistically, if this were allowed people would be receiving hundreds of friend requests a day, which no one wants.

I do. I add all the spammers with fake profile pics of models and all the people whose names are in Arabic or Chinese or whatever. They don't annoy me nearly as much as the people I do know. :D

If I got a friend request from some random event page who set the profile up as a person and not a page then I'd report them to Facebook so as far as I can see they're handling it well.

As far as I know if you set up a page for a company you can't send friend requests, just ask people to like and share your page so you're already breaking several t&c's of Facebook.

It's exactly 5k, the best way around this is to get fb friends to send "friend suggestions" never had issues doing that

Facebook has been replaced by Whatsapp.

You should be looking at ways of getting people to share your event. You could offer a prize or if your event is interesting enough they might even share it spontaneously.

Inviting random people on FB will result in your account being blocked as that's not what FB is designed to be used for.

What you're doing is as our even more unwelcome than email spam.

Also FB makes money or of ads....

from what I know, it's if you're sending friend requests and those people are denying it/blocking you.

Don't know how many blocks it takes but, I'd suggested you messaged the people first and let them tell you if they want to be friended or not.

Post here for the blogs/wikis/social networks forum.

    A quick google tells me this;
"add a few at a time, do something else for a while , then go back and add some more, also, chance the msg you type, if you use the same msg every time it triggers their spam block, this filter they have put in really punishes users that play the games like mafia wars, who are trying to build bigger mafias and such, the "pink slip you got lasts for 24 hrs" do not try to add any more after you get it for a day or you could get disabled"

"I believe there is no such a limit. I found that some of my friend's "friend request" feature had been disabled for some days. Because they were using the feature every day and adding about 20-50 friends daily. "

"I've done as many as 55 in day without any warning. However my invites were sporadic. 10 here...10 more an hour later.5 more 1/2 hour later. If you try to do them all at once you'll get a warning."
    *****************
There's your answer, keep it sporadic and change the message you are sending or you'll trigger the spam warning.

It's actually a button when you get the friend request now (used to be different), if you say you dont know them in real life then facebook will eventually get you to match names to pictures :P Which is impossible as it can be any picture they own that might not even be of their face

I don't add anymore and still get a steady 20+ requests a day if not more

If you are trying to promote something facebook have a service which is actually very reasonable.

Freinds of mine from Dublin lost their dog last year whilst holidaying in Cork. They paid facebook 120 euro to promote their page and it worked. Everyone on facebook living in the general area the dog was lost was constantly shown an ad for their facebook page on the right hand side of the screen.

The dog was found a week after he went missing. Moral of the story is don't spam people, it pisses them off but pay facebook to do so and it'll work. Facebook have to make money somewhere.

A guy I know from college was asked to explain every contact on his FB account by US Homeland Security having entered the states!

You'd want to be careful who you add these days.

If you have a Facebook event or "Like" page you can pay Facebook to "promote" it. That way you should get more likes. More likes does not always mean more interest, however.

Not really, if they don't know you, they can report you too. If I get a request from someone I don't know I just click ignore, and it say I don't know the person.

I have a community page and I get spam messages all the time, and it's just a simple case of reporting it as spam, and it's exactly what I do. Nor do I just invite people to it, it's either something they're interested in or they're not.

You need to use the "Find Customers" page of Facebook rather then the "Find Friends". That's a collection of Facebook pages just like yours that have no real friends but rather an endless list of similar pages just 'Like'ing each other in a circle jerk of tedious commercialism.

    I'm older than Minecraft goats.

if you already know these people you could just include the link the next time you send an email to them

otherwise I hope you go to prison for the total time it takes people who don't know you to process and reject requests. seriously

In my view this would limit spam (6.3 million would mean a in prison, a couple of thousand would be just a criminal record)
