Had a nice Floyd night/early morning.

Could not sleep last night and at a little after 01:30 I decided that the idea of lying in my dark bedroom with some Floyd playing was an appealing one. I just love being in a dark room with nothing to do or think of save for letting the music that is playing work it's way into my head.

So on went The Dark Side Of The Moon, and it went off after two tracks. Just could not get into it.

Then threw on A Momentary Lapse of Reason and Wish You Were Here back to back. What followed was 95 or so minutes of just letting some fantastic music wash over me. Don't think I had ever played them back to back before, but they just worked so well.

The Division Bell has always been the PF album that has toyed with my affections the most, but I must admit that in recent years I think that A Momentary Lapse of Reason and especially Wish You Were Here have taken my number one and two slots for favourite PF albums although it is difficult for me to pick which order they come in.

    Ok... pop quiz...

What has Piper at the Gates of Dawn and The Division Bell got in common?

    No, the answer is...

The first vocal you hear on the first track of Pink Floyd's first studio album Piper At The Gates of Dawn is of their then manager Peter Jenner, (reading out celestial names through a megaphone)
The very last vocal you hear on the last track of Pink Floyd's last studio album The Division Bell is of their then manager Steve O'Rourke. (speaking to Dave Gilmour's son on the telephone).
Pink Floyds albums, book-ended by their managers voices.

There's not many gigs you go to where the singer shoots the audience with a machine gun, a plane crashes into the stage and a giant inflatable pig is devoured by the crowd ;)

Totally makes up for the odd pre recorded vocal or two :)

Those are awesome pics, but overall I didn't think they blew us away as much as last time here - still superb though.
