You let me down Lee. You made me look like a fool.

I remember thinking Richie Partridge was going to be the new Maradona with all the murmerings about him.

Wonder how much a young Fowler or McManaman would fetch today. For all the talent we have coming through, you'd wonder if we will produce the likes of those again anytime soon.

Which is exactly why I made the comment about him needing a savvy head or two around him at this early stage of his life.

He is a young lad of 18 who already is earning more money per month than most adults. Most of us here were most likely know it alls who really knew very little when we were 18. Just imagine what we would have been like with that sort of money coming in, and the no doubt long line of hangers on telling us how great we are.

Funny thing is that the lad has a lovely reputation around Woolton where he lives. My brother lives there (one of his nearby neigbours is Skrtel) and he loves how polite Sterling is around the area. But Huyton and Sterling seems to be a bad fit and Page Moss in particular is defo not a great spot for a lad with lots of money who may be easily led/duped by others or through peer pressure.

But would tend to agree with the gist of what you are saying. If enough mud is flung, it tends to become how the person is seen, rightly or wrongly.

The uncle lived in the Woolton area for a number of years. Near enough to Allerton Golf Club if you know of it, the local school being a tad up the road from him from what I recall. Really lovely area.

Could be worse, one of your former favourite players could very possibly be a serial killer, or at least a murderer :0(

Still clinging to blind hope that this is all somehow a huge misunderstanding.

    That's yesterdays news Mike!! :pac:
It was funny listening to Woy saying that he was delighted for Rickie Lambert, but he wouldnt have made it if Andy Carroll or Sturridge was fit.

Whatever about Sturridge, I would think that Rickie Lambert is a good bit better than Big Andy

I don't think Suarez has travelled but everybody else has travelled including Sturrigde according to neil jones . I would banish him to the reserves for a few weeks now and tell him he is here for at least another year . If he wants a move next season he can have one providing he sacks his agent first .

Here's another observation on tomorrows match. Who got paid a fortune to come up with the title, 'The Dublin Decider'?? What's it deciding? It's as bad as Sky Sports billing every fookin' sporting event as something it's not!

I think it will see a similar Agger in red this coming season as to what the Danes got when they gave him the VC slot and then the captain's armband. He is very vocal for the Danish national team and constantly organising the team in front of him.Seems to live in Kjaer's ear at times. :D

If he gets back into the side, doesn't sulk and starts scoring I won't care tbh.

He's gone down in my estimation but if he helps LFC to get top 4 that's fine as far as I'm concerned.

I think that when everyone has calmed down calmed down, it's the only way out for him. He has called the manager a liar so he needs a way of reconciling that with playing for LFC again. My guess/hope is that a statement will come out detailing how the agent misunderstood the contract blah blah blah and he will express his regret and that will put it to bed for now.

I doubt that the player and manager would even be thrashing out the contract details together, surely that would be done by the business side of things, Ayre and the agent/advisers? Even if Rodgers was there, he wouldn't really have the authority to agree to such a specific clause, would he?

    Jay -
Bolton new boy Jay Spearing admits his desire to play regular first-team football made up his mind to leave Liverpool.

Spearing has signed a four-year deal at Bolton after the Championship club agreed an undisclosed fee with Liverpool for the midfielder.

The 24-year-old impressed during a loan spell at Bolton last season, making 39 appearances for the Trotters and he made a big impression on Dougie Freedman.

Spearing, who came through the ranks at Liverpool, decided to leave Anfield after being informed by Brendan Rodgers his first-team chances would be limited this season.

"I will always be a Liverpool fan. It's been a massive part of my life and I thank everybody who helped make it happen for me," Spearing told Sky Sports News Radio.

"A lot of dreams came true, but now in football terms it was time for me to move on and get regular football.

"Regular football for me is the main thing for me now.

"Last year's loan was a massive part of my decision. I really enjoyed my time there, the lads, the backroom staff and everything about the club was something I really enjoyed and, as soon as I knew the manager was interested again, it was a good and easy decision to make.

"Last year was a massive time for me as I played nearly 40 times and it was something I wanted again.

"I sat down with Brendan [Rodgers] and we had a good chat and it came to a point that [playing regularly] wasn't going to happen at Liverpool, and we both ended it in a nice way."

    Souness on Suarez
Suarez, 26, reportedly told Spanish newspaper Marca that he is hoping to quit the Merseyside club and join a team in the Champions League, with Arsenal seemingly leading the race for his signature having already offered £40million and one pound.

However, former Liverpool player and manager Souness believes the Uruguayan should continue his career with the Reds after they supported him through his ban for racially abusing Patrice Evra and last campaign's bite on Branislav Ivanovic for which he is midway through a 10-game suspension.

Souness reckons the ex-Ajax frontman, who moved to Anfield in January 2011 for a fee of £22.8m, could strike a deal with Liverpool owner John W Henry that allows him to depart the club next summer, as they would be "taken to the cleaners" trying to replace him this.

"Maybe Henry could say to Suarez: 'Give me another year', like Sir Alex Ferguson did with Cristiano Ronaldo."
    Graeme Souness

"I think he does [owe Liverpool] and everyone in their correct mind would see it like that," Souness, who won three European Cup titles as a player with Liverpool, told Sky Sports News.

"I think back to the T-shirts at Wigan when he got himself in real bother and the Ivanovic situation last season - the board have stood by him, the club have stood by him and the manager has stood by him.

"You would like to think a bit of common sense and loyalty would prevail but that doesn't appear to be the case.

"If Henry really believes what he is saying [that Suarez will not be sold] then maybe he could say to him: 'Give me another year', like Sir Alex Ferguson did with Cristiano Ronaldo.

Carragher - Suarez nearing point of no return

"It is all too late for Liverpool now as they would have to pay a premium on players to replace him and get taken to the cleaners - and there are no obvious replacements."

Also seen a few articles linking Masherano with a move away.

I still expect him to be gone by September. If not, great, so long as he knuckles down and does his job.

If he does stay, I'm sure he'll be pushing even harder for a move next summer. In that case I just hope Barca, Real or whoever come in for him early and he doesn't ruin our summer for a 2nd year in a row.

Good, regardless of what happens, a performing Suarez is still the best player at this club.

Having said all that though, I think Suarez only has himself to blame in all this. His antics at Groningen, Ajax and Liverpool at times have been a disgrace. I can't help but feel if he had just gotten on with playing great football, he would already have a move to the likes of Real Madrid. As it stands though, I think Madrid felt it was too risky to move on a untrustworthy player who could damage their global brand and identity. I definitely think if Suarez was the model professional that Gareth Bale is (notice how Bale has kept his mouth shut all Summer) - Madrid would be pursuing him instead.
