Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

From reading your question it would read arse about face to me.
"......and want to shoot in comps like Bisley to get experience"

Surely you want to shoot in as many comps. here first to get experience before going to Bisley and shooting the main gallery comp. the Phoenix.

Are you a member of a club that shoots gallery rifle disciplines?? This would be a first step. There you can be shown the correct course of fire and get some practice in to hone your stills.

Look at the NASRPC website for comps. held in Ireland and you can enter these to get a feel for them.

And here is what your after - from the Phoenix comp. this year.
    Phoenix Gold Medal.

And this is what the Irish Team and competitors won at this years Phoenix event.

    adrian5765,
If you're a total novice, all the better. It is easier to teach a newbie how to shoot correctly than have to break the bad habits of a more seasoned shooter.

You should get to a range where there are lots of far better shooter than yourself. You'll learn more faster and pick up good habits.

No matter what your sport, always try and be around the best. You'll learn more just by watching them then you can possibly imagine.

If you were born in Wales, can you not get a gun license in Wales? I wonder if you could license the same gun in Eire and Wales? Would be nice for traveling.

If you still have someone at "home" in Wales, I would look in to getting a license there as well as Eire.
