    Currently on the market for a new turbo trainer. I did have the basic level taxc and found it did the job until the resistance lever broke..

    What does everybody else use? Any recommendations?

    You can spend a fortune on turbos, or not.

    A few questions:
    * House, apartment or shed?
    * Budget
    * Trainer wheel or one wheel for road and turbo

    Planning on spending max 250-300.

    Have an old training wheel that does the job. And in terms of location it varies due to work..

    I broke the lever on my Taxc Sirrus earlier this year. Brought it back to the shop and they got it replaced on warranty - Just worked out well as they originally said it would cost about 30 euro. Gave me a loaner while I was waiting too. Might be an option for you instead of blowing 200 on a new one.

    House implies noise an issue. Fluid trainers are the most quiet, or an elctromag.
    400 euro would put a tacx flow in your region.
    Turbo tyre means you don't really need gel on the roller.

    If getting a turbo then the only place to get one is Bike24.net

    Something I have never done is use a specific turbo tyre and I must have my back wheel on it for 5 years now with no punctures.

    I have the Satori perhaps its because I just use the gears rather than the resistance setting on the turbo :confused:

    Would you believe I do use it loads, its the not pedaling hard to cause any erosion that could be the issue. Which reminds me I must download Game of Thrones - at least some steamy sex scenes might get my heart rate up a little :o
