4od did not play the programs last night although it did play every poxy advert .

    Was working fine last week.

4oD must be geo-restricted on our device.

Either Channel 4 or Sky must not have got the memo that ROI residents are allowed view the content, or Sky just want to keep it locked to the UK as much as possible.

Im sure it is a case that the developers of the plugin / app were not made aware of it.

I must try to VPN tonight and see if the content plays.

Watched the latest episode of the big bang theory on 4od earlier with no problems. Must be something else causing it.

4OD works perfect for me, only the dam adverts annoy the feck out of me!

This is an excellent piece of kit, an absolute no-brainer and I'd recommend it to anyone.

But just lately I've been noticing the odd stutter while playing movies using Plex on anything over, say, 20 minutes.
Either skips on a bit in the video or just freezes.

Now it could be down to bad wifi signal in that part of the house, but I was just wondering if anyone else has seen this ??

I'm pretty sure it's only started happening over the last couple of weeks - was rock solid before that.

    .
I noticed that last night and mine was fine until then.

+1 but it's a problem they have on the 4oD website too

Yeah they definitely boost the signal. I had one before in my terraced house and worked perfectly

Did a non amplified one not work?

Very true do they not realise that making these catch up websites so poorly they are driving people away from their channel to other services like Netflix to watch content.

No, non amplified pulled in nothing, once I'd switch on the amp they'd all appear.

Word of advise for parents or other people living with them.

Set up pin protection with billing.

My 9 year old ordered a movie pass and an entertainment pass for the month . Needless to say. I did not ask him to do so.

Newbie to all this techie stuff, a little help would be appreciated...

Just picked up my NowTV box via Parcel Motel (first time to use Parcel Motel also, great service).

First post on this thread says you don't need NowTV account to use the box- is that still the case?

    Is a NowTV account free?

What can I do with this box without paying subscription fees?

    Thanks for any help.

Have to agree; maybe edit the first post to include all this info; that would cut down on thread size

Skidrow. This thread has turned into a book so here is the laymans version.
It is free 100%, but you need to register an account with Sky with a debit or credit card . You will get one month free of the movies . If you don't wish to continue with it, i think there is a box you should un-check to make sure it does not automatic charge you for a second month. If you goto youtube it will give you instructions on how to set up PLEX on the box . Plex lets you view all the films and media you have on your computer , on your TV via your home network. You manage it on you computer. Once you learn the ropes with it, you will never look back.
4od is available through the app store on the tv .
BBC I player will not work unless you want to get into you router settings and pay for a UK IP address.

So for a tenner you get a TV hd streamer and a month of movies via sky. Plus extra apps you may wish to mess with.

It is uncrackable as yet with regards to getting Netflicks .

On another note I can't see my playlists in the youtube app...anyone any ideas if it's possible to see them?

    Thanks
