A fire TV stick will do the same job for half the price, very easy to sideload kodi (XBMC) and put the content on yourself

I wouldn't recommend the fire tv stick to someone who says their stuck in the 80s technology wise. Too much faffing around to get a mouse/keyboard on there, get a link to kodi on the homescreen etc. Its a very hobbled device for the same price you'd get a S805 based box with proper usb ports and xbmc installed.

What the story with this? Must you pay a monthly or yearly sub to get movies and tv shows in it?
Can you put apps on this to work it as an android box?

I understand I rarflix can be installed?

You just need to buy it. Its up to you if you want to subscribe monthly to Nowtv. Now TV is quite good if you want an alternative to sky tv.
    Netflix is blocked from it.
I works like an android box but you are restricted on what you can side load. Plex make it worth it..

Youtube and the like can be added via NowTV channel store for free.

Is it possible to revert one of these boxes back to being a plain Roku box?

It's very good value at the minute. I know you can sideload on Plex, but what about other channels that are available on the regular Roku boxes? Or is it possible to load on Kodi / XBMC?

No. There are other forums that took it apart . There is different circuitry on the now tv box.

anyone find that streaming from plex server to box that media often cuts out ten or so minutes from the end and then it can't reconnect to the media being played? it only happens ten or so minutes from the end so it's not my wifi.
I had thought that putting rarflix instead of plex on the now tv box had fixed this but it still happens a fair bit.
    any known solution?

9 euro dearer than Sky which is great as you're not stuck in a contract

But no need for basic package with Sky.
Could be an option for people now to have Saorview/freesat and then get sports via now for the monthly price. Atleast a 20 euro saving each month.

Think the current one is 720p so HD Ready.

I think they mean the actual Sky content is only streamed in SD.

    One month Entertainment for £1

You must cancel the sub or you will be charged full price on the next month. You will still keep the month you paid £1 for.

Sorry for what might be an obvious question, but with the box could I buy the daily sky sports pass only when I need to watch certain rugby games?
