Issue with UPC connecting to certain website

    How do,
I have a friend that is in the south Dublin area that is having issues connecting to websites while using her UPC broadband. Anybody else here on UPC in south Dublin having issues connecting to random websites?

From what I can tell, its seems like a UPC routing issue, a trace on her PC seems to go so far, then bomb out at a certain point, for these particular sites.

She can access these sites fine when using say her mobile broadband on her phone, or using her husbands mobile broadband on his phone.

Would this be a UPC issue or could it be something misconfigured on her router. She rang UPC, but they just kind of shook their heads and said they didn't really know.

    Billy

We can't tell much without the trace.

There are another couple of sites as well that she cannot access, from what I can tell, they are all hosted by Blacknight (www.blacknight.com).

Is this up to the ISP to solve or should the web hosting company be contacted?

Best off posting this in the Talk to UPC forum, the reps there may be able to pass on details to their tech support.

Its not uncommon for routing issues on UPC. There's a few threads on the UPC forum

Definitely seems to be a routing issue for your friend. Whatever network segment she's on seems to be having routing issues to Blacknight.com servers - both greyhound.ie and ourladyshockeyclub.com are hosted by Blacknight

    I can get to greyhound.ie

    Tracing route to greyhound.ie [78.153.216.51]
