Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Well it was never going to be anything other than a tight enough game - just too much at stake. One goal to decide it, probably QPR on the counter.

    Double buggery, sorry Andre.

Commentator: "how on earth have QPR pulled this one off"

Errrm, have a look at their wage bill for a start. You'd think they'd pulled off a massive surprise or something :pac:

    Ugh.

QPR are an immensely dislikeable club. Such a shame that they're back in the Premier League.

And we all now have to suffer Harry hanging from a car window now for the next couple of months :(

    Dunne has been immense

He had a massive game today. Good to see him and Doyle back in the PL next season.

Delighted for Redknapp, hopefully they'll learn from their mistakes and stay up next year. Look forward to seeing them next year. Dunne was immense today.

    Great game as well.

What the situation with QPR and FFP? They're in loads of debt, any chance that UEFA destroy them?

  • Site Banned Posts: 26,456 ✭✭✭✭Nuri Sahin

It'll be interesting to see how much more QPR will push on ahead of clubs like Atleti and Dortmund, just to name two clubs when it comes to wages by September.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,218 ✭✭✭POKERKING

I read qpr have higher wage bill than a.madrid and dortmund:eek:.

Dunne immense, loves back to the wall games what a legend.

A trophy for winning the play-offs is one of the more nonsensical things in football.

  • Registered Users Posts: 8,711 ✭✭✭keano_afc

Gutted. QPR are a detestable club led by a fraud of a manager. Dreading having to put up with his crap next season.

Dunne was excellent today, but lets be honest he is completely finished at Premier League level. He'll be torn to bits for most of the season and QPR really need to improve on their back four as a whole as a matter of priority IMO. None of them are good enough.

Doyle is still a Wolves player and again, QPR really need to improve on that standard IMO.

This is the most sickening part and looking at him lift the trophy ...

    Barton Aug 2013.

£50m fine very likely according to Sporting Intelligence.

Frank Lampard, Glen Johnson, Joe Cole, Gareth Barry, Nicklas Bendtner are just some of whom who are phoning their agents.

Hardly surprising really. He set up Zamora's winner perfectly. Shocking clearance. He's got a long summer ahead of him, thinking ''what if?''.

As i already said, derby struggled when rangers when down to ten men, because they have no individual genius to crack open that parked bus. No Andy Reid, no Anthony Knockaert, no Danny Ings. Just a bunch of hard working honest pros - and the circumstances today required more than that.

About the FFP - there's ana rticle on BBC about it:

    http://www.bbc.com/sport/0/football/27538802

Basically, if QPR match last seasons losses, they could be facing a fine from the FA of £50.

However, QPR are now int the Premier League, which is not run by the FA. The PL has stated they will not aid the FA in getting the money:
The Premier League has previously told the Football League it would have no involvement in retrieving the money, considering the matter to be none of its business.
Therefore, it would not withhold any television cash upon the Hoops' return to the top flight, forcing the Football League to actively pursue QPR for any financial penalty.

So QPR will probably face a large FFP fine from the FA - but the FA will now have difficulty enforcing the fine as QPR are no longer in an FA league...

They will just need to wait until QPR get relegated, it can offer the pay up or get expelled from the league ultimatum. That or a hefty points deduction.

Harsh on Derby, they were by far the better team .
QPR offered nothing for the whole match and scored with their first attempt on target ,pretty woeful stuff from a club with such a huge wage bill.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,719 ✭✭✭✭thebaz

fair play to the R's - some of the hate here is a bit over the top - I have some mates who are fans , been to loftus road a couple of times , and loved it. So well done to big Richard Dunne and the lads , and Barton has done well this year , buckled down - everyone deserves a second chance - no one is perfect - unless your a gary lineker wannabe

They're out of business if they get relegated. They now owe the football league 55m if they want to play in it again. If not, relegation would send them to the first non football league league that'll take them.

Gonna be a serious mess caused here

I feel another Portsmouth coming on. It was the same manager too! He's trying to destroy clubs one by one.

There was a young man named Zamora, who fancied himself as a scorer, When Keogh fell asleep, he silenced the sheep, and buried it in the top corner.

Alex Revell is a lovely lad. I saw him break his leg at Orient a few years ago and he didn't get much sympathy from their fans. I'm sure he loved that goal.

Seeing Steve Evans celebrating makes me want to punch the TV. What a horrible man. Three play-off final defeats for Russel Slade now I think?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,166 ✭✭✭Beefy78

Yeah Steve Evans is one of the most loathsome men in football. Still much happier seeing one Steve Evans happy than 20,000 'orrible Cockneys.

Fleetwood have certainly spent their way up the leagues, fair play to the chairman for putting his money up for the project.
