    This letter box shows its location as "Bandon Railway". Correct long time ago.

    Closed in 1961 but the station on albert quay was open til the 70s.

    I think it was used to load fertilizer on goods trains. the trains then used to run on the street via a tramway from albert quay to kent station over the old lifting bridges. you can still follow the path the tramway took to this day!

    Back in the day going over the bridges cyclists used to get stuck in the rails and had to follow the track until they slowed down and hopped out of the rail...
