Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Anyone know what's being built at the entrance to the town on the left where the new coast road begins? Looks like a fairly big development.

I assume that Westmount clinic will move here?

Shame about the location, there is plenty of appropriate space in the town itself.

I believe its going to be an ambulance bay aswell so in that case its a great location.
Not a good location if your a person who doesn't drive.

    Terrible location....

considering there is a small empty hospital in the centre of the town next to an underused health clinic.

right where the ambulances used to be located for years.

an unnecessary build, considering what is available in the town already.

Just because something has been in the same place for years doesn't make it a good location.
It will speed up response times going.
Going through the town is dangerous at high speed.

The area around the hospital is home to a large number of elderly residents.... The ambulance base worked well there.

It is no improvement having ambulances having to go into Wicklow Town only to exit again to get to the Dublin hospitals..... So your access point makes no sense.

Moving a doctors surgery / clinic 2 miles from the centre of town just healthcare harder to access for a lot of Wicklows.more elderly residents.

There is only a few ambulance bays at the new developement, so not all the ambulances will be based there if any.

We haven't really been given information regarding the development other than a few gps are moving there.

The development is 2.2km from the town's center roughly midway between Wicklow and Rathnew.

I can't stay I know the stats, but I assume, half of the calls are outside Wicklow town, the new location would have great acess to Rathnew, Ashford and the N11.
