Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Buying parts on ebay

Anyone any recommendations to what shop to buy from on ebay and has anyone had a good experience with buying from asia? Parts are cheap but there has to be a snag somewhere. Ireland is crazy expensive for new parts from what I've seen so far.

Any shops with a website in Ireland that are reasonable in price and stock?

    Cheers

Depends what you are looking for TBH, if its just service parts then its best to shop around and get a rapport going with a place and repeat business will help lower the price. For other stuff like chain and sprockets etc ebay FTW.

    Depends on what you're buying?

I've used a few bikebreakers, can PM you a link to a company in Cork, very resonable with their prices and all parts were in perfect working order when received.

I'm restoring a streetfighted 97 CBR 600 f3, stupid idea looking back but wanted to find my way around a bike before I get something decent next year maybe.

Need like a rectifier, battery, mirrors, indicators, rear fairing (The back end isn't f3 so idk what the fook to do there), tail light, windscreen, tires, brake pads, passenger seat catch.

Ebay is grand but add up all the shipping fees when you get all that individually. Lot to be said for getting them from one shop.

I've bought lots of stuff for cars and bikes on ebay and the only time ive had an issue was when I bought from outside the EU. Customer service in Asia just doesn't seem to work!

If you buy from european sellers with good feedback and lots of it, ebay is fine. Local parts suppliers seem to get my order mixed up far more frequently!

I don't know much about ordering within ireland but motorcycleshop.ie seems like good value to me.

as for shipping to here have a look at parcel motel, quite often you'll get free shipping to the motel as its a uk adress and then 6e down to your local depot

Don't forget if buying from outside the EU you get charged VAT and import duty on the total price including shipping with IIRC upto €15 allowed for a handling charge by the delivery company

I buy all my parts on eBay Germany, never had an issue, no customs aggravation as parts have been bought within the EU so all duties are paid & Deutsche Post own & operate DHL so shipping is very rarely more than €15, regardless of the size/weight of package.
