Late-round pick? A third or fourth rounder for Clark is starting to seem like value.

    That's that. Cracking game.

Stupidity to run a long slant on 4th and 1 from that position. I don't think they should have even gone for it to be honest.

MASON. Someone give that lad an award.

If Auburn win this they have to overtake Ohio State, surely? Madness if they don't get to play the big one with a win here.

    Nope. OSU win, they're in.

Auburn have earnt style points tonight. OSU are no locks.

Even just the speculation alone is enough to show the need for a proper playoff system.

    Ohio .9503 Auburn .9233

Think Auburn really need Ohio St. to lose really, don't see how they can overtake them otherwise

I think in OT in the NFL they don't kick the PAT but in regular time they do. Not sure what college football rules are? I'm taking it you had an over/under bet

In college they don't take the PAT if the result has been already settled.
It's only taken if the PAT could have an effect on the final result.

If there's only 1/2 point in it for example they have to take the PAT because there's the possibly that the PAT could be missed and returned for 2 points so teams will probably take a knee in the event of that happening.

Or of course the more likely scenario of a team still being down by 1-2 points and needing the extra points to draw level.

We get it next year. This year though, if an Urban Meyer led OSU ends up 13 - 0 after beating no.10 MSU in the title game they will not be denied. Fingers crossed.

A playoff with FSU, Ohio State, Auburn & Alabama would be the business :(

    Mason over 300 yards!!

Yep, I think it's a great addition. Imagine playoffs of FSU (1) vs Alabama (4) and OSU (2) vs Auburn (3) this season.

.27 is minuscule. Putting 59 on the #5 team in the country will make both the human voters and computers happy. It would be very fitting if in its death throes this system finally broke the duck.

Anyone who thinks OSU with just a win is a lock is fooling themselves.

Over 300 yards for Mason, incredible.

Looking forward to this Ohio State vs Michigan game now although I'll probably end up falling asleep by half time. Ohio State listed as 5 point favourites.

    ESPN UK, apparently.

Doesn't matter to me, Duke or Sparty, make the decision for the voters easy, please. Cheers! :pac:

That's correct, they deal in wins / losses. MOV not considered.

so from that point of view it makes it really hard for auburn to catch Ohio State if they win as computer will just give them a little more.

Next years system should improve it, people were talkin about basketball which picks a final 32, experts not part of choosing process often get 29-30 of the 32 right so they reckon that people will 90% + OF time pick what the majority would pick.

After tonight its likely Alabama would have got in as no4. its going be good for BCS teams to have game extra too as the break to the Bowl is so long

And given Auburn beat the #5 team in the country and one with only a singular loss before tonight that counts for plenty.

You don't seem to understand the system which is fine. Anyway, it's not really a matter of debate. The results will be in three hours or so hence and we'll know who's in the championship.

    Nice throw from Boone

Shame for Duke there. Good drive but they need every point going

They've had a dream start really and fair play to them for it, but the difference in talent is clear to see.

That fella knows a little about BCS title games.

You seem to have developed an unmitigated level of arrogance, which is fine too.

I'm not being arrogant, I'm merely losing patience conversing with someone who is blinded by what they want to happen as opposed to the realities of what will happen. Yes, all you SEC fans feel that the National Championship should be SEC Champ + 1. Unfortunately the system doesn't work like that and the current position and context going into tonight means that the important game is one quarter through now.
