I like the look of Evans, would love for the niners to get him, but probably not going to happen for one reason or another.

Yeah he'll be gone before you're on the clock mate, although a trade up is possible it would probably cost too much.

I think he could land anywhere from around 10th-20th, teams like the Bills, Lions, Ravens and Jets will all have near the top of their board I'd imagine. I'd be very surprised if he fell past the Jets at 18 if he's not gone before then.

Mike Evans not a happy camper out there at the minute. Two personal fouls in the first quarter and Manziel forced to try and calm him down on the sideline, showing good leadership.

Duke up 21-3 at the start of the second quarter.

Wow Duke giving A&M some hiding so far

The 2nd penalty against him was a BS call to be fair

    Badly needed TD for A&M

Crowder just smoked Howard Matthews for a TD there, nice pass by Boone hitting him in stride.

One would struggle to believe that Texas were a 12 point favourite for this one based on play so far.

Nice aul game here, Duke coulda done with keeping A&M out there on 4th down!

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,172 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

What a hit from Crowder to secure that score

This is nuts, onside kick recovered by Duke

  • Registered Users Posts: 28,710 ✭✭✭✭Paully D

Really enjoyable half of football that. It couldn't have gone any better for Duke.

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,172 ✭✭✭✭kmart6

Unfortunate they didn't get the TD before the half, the fact the get the ball to start the half could really put this out of reach, although Manziel could add to his legacy with a comeback

A&M on a roll, next drive is crucial for Duke!

Edit 1: Great play by Reeves

Edit 2: Ridiculous throws by Manziel

Edit 3: This game has nearly everything

Edit 4: Boone is going to want that back, shame the game ends with that mistake. Duke deserved to win, great effort.

Finally time for bed, wanted an early night tonight but glad I didn't, this was too entertaining.

Bollocks, unfortunately I couldn't stay awake at half time and by all means missed a thriller.

Highlights here for anyone who missed it:

If ever one play summed up Manziel it's the one starting around the 1:07 mark.

Manziel is magic, absolutely love the guy!

Will follow him very closely in the NFL, think he could land with the Browns. He has all the ability in the world and I think he can succeed at the next level but he has a similar problem to RGIII in that he's bound to take some big hits if he doesn't change his running style. One of the most exciting players to grace the college game in the past years without doubt though.

FFS - how does anyone do that or how does a defense let him do it may be the better question :pac:

  • Registered Users Posts: 5,965 ✭✭✭Syferus

If A&M had an actual defence this year Manziel could very well have taken them to the big game - they were inches from beating both Bama and Auburn in College Station.

The Aggies will be forever wondering what could have been in the 15 months they had Johnny Football on the field.

That's why Johnny is the most electric player that's been in college ball for a very long time. Will it translate to the NFL? Who knows but it's been fun watching him in college!

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,717 ✭✭✭polaris68

Hard to see him replicating that in the NFL but it certainly will be intriguing to see if he can succeed there.

It'll be coached out of him from day 1. Running into your own lineman doesn't always work too well - ask Sanchez. But more seriously, hes one monster hit from a 280lb DE or LB from retirement.
He's definitely not the full package from an NFL QB perspective but if he improves a few aspects of his game (decision making) he'll be electric.

More bowl wins for the Southeastern Conference - Georgia, the other other SEC Tigers and South Carolina took care of business.

It really would have made a mockery of the BSC had Auburn ended up on the outside looking in - for all the talk about the SEC not being all it's cracked up to be results tell a different story. Long may it continue.

Time for the lead-in game in Pasadena.

Just had a look at the duke texas a&m highlights. As talented as Johnny Football is he has a face yiu just want to punch. Reminds me of the snotty rich quarteback kid in one season of friday night lights

As 2013 has now ended. One of the most amazing endings ever and of 2013 in college ball Alabama @ Auburn in full

  • Registered Users Posts: 15,234 ✭✭✭✭Oat23

Never realised that the placekicker for UCF (Sean Galvin) was from Cork! They just said it during the Fiesta Bowl.

He'll be returning home in August for the Penn State game then.

The Iron Bowl was an excellent back-and-forth rivalry game. The magic of the ending was that it was the final play of what was an already incredible game.

There was a write up on him in the Holly Bough this year, from Bandon but moved to US with the family in his early teens.

Galvin doing well for himself. Moved to the US at the right time as it meant he got all 4 years of High School and 4 years of learning the game. Probably wont make the pros as there is better kickers out there than him but fair play to the lad.

Watching the game I noticed this though blooper reel for him:

Here is an article on him from The Score a while back: http://www.thescore.ie/sean-galvin-ucf-croke-park-classic-1027477-Aug2013/

Must have been ESPN.com playing up because the final on their scoreboard was 19-17 for the Bulldogs..!

#1 rated in the country Leonard Fournette just declared for LSU over Alabama.

Good news for them after they lost out on two other five star recruits and a four star they thought they had in the bag, Tony Brown (CB who went to Alabama), Gerard Willis III (DE who went to Florida) and Speedy Noil (WR who went to A&M).
