I'm doing 7 subjects for leaving cert and irish really isn't my strong point and won't be on my points and I'd also love to free some study time up. However when I put down my predicted grades i don't want colleges turned off because I did lower irish. Or do I just put my top six predicted grades?

Ps. Applying to top colleges eg.Durham

Made no difference to me when applying to Edinburgh. They'll usually expect a minimum set of grades, including one or two course specific subjects. As long as you're not studying gaelic or something like that you'll have no problem.

Definitely don't just put your top 6 in. If they find out you're doing 7 subjects that'll set off alarm bells in their heads. Why did you not include the last subject? Definitely doesn't look good.

    Best of luck though, OP.
