I like when rock stars dress and act like rock stars, not the bland sh1te in the chart now, One Direction, like an explosion at a River Island factory chinos and clean cut is not cool, nor will it ever be. sure look at Bruce Springsteen, 63 and still playing 3hr+ sets without taking breaks. that's unreal for someone his age. I know people in their 30's who act like they're older than that.

Well, I don't like how he looks...
He'd probably look ten times weirder dressed as a normal pensioner.

He's a complete scumbag and an utter creep, have a read about the stuff he did when he was younger
you could say that about many many people, including a few who went on to change the world. Generally I figure how a person learns from such mistakes and moves beyond them makes them better than those who were always "good".

And what happens when people like Tyler and his ilk are gone, what are we left with?

    bland sanitised rubbish music

In fairness, Aerosmith has been ****e since Toys in the Attic.

He'd want to cop on to himself don't you think he's 65 ffs, thats granddaddy age and he looks like a teenage transvestite hooker.

I just wish rock stars would retire gracefully instead of making holy shows of themselves by trying to look cool & hip....it ain't cool its embarrassing:cool:

Hard to believe Liv Tyler is out of him...

This is a man who had a relationship with a girl so young (14!) he had to "persuade" (I wonder how he did that? ) her parents to make him her guardian so she could live and travel with him. He also forced her into having an abortion.

He's a complete scumbag, who happens to be a talented musician. What he did was not a mistake, its the actions of a predator, at the very least an utter scumbag, as I said. These are not the type of actions which you look at and say "fair play he overcame all that, look at him now"

He's a talented musician but a disgusting human being imo, as is anyone who preys on children like that

The girl in question, after suicide attempts, drug addiction and a whole host of horrible things eventually got away from him and now lives a happy life with her husband and a bunch of kids, in case anyone is wondering.

Man, pensioners were different in my day... :D

Even "jog in the summer, gym in the winter" type 35 year olds would have a helluva tough time keeping up with Jagger.

AS good maybe, but not "better", no.

It was really cool when Steve Tyler appeared as a judge on 'American Idol'. Not cringeworthy at all, hells no.

People can act as they please, but I will always groan at decrepit-looking aul lads attempting to act rock n roll long past relevance. It's a visceral reaction. And I always think they look their age, TBH.

She was 16 according to wiki and he was 27. Well dodgy? Hell yes. Was he high as a kite at the time? Yes. A kiddie fiddler? Hardly and predator is hardly applicable unless you're a daily mail hack. And what the hell where her parents thinking? Did he turn his life around, yes.

Id still say better. Why? They've faced their demons and overcame them, those who've had no demons haven't been tested to nearly the same degree(and I find them less trustworthy over time too). Give me a reformed thunderin whore any day of the week. Such people are more rounded and more interesting with it and a lot less beige.

You really don't know that. Many people face obstacles from early on and throughout their life and always handle them the right way. THAT is far more impressive. In fact, I'd say a hell of a lot of people have crap thrown at them throughout life, and rise about it all.

Wiki is wrong, I've read elsewhere in numerous places that she was 14.

In my book doing what he did is the actions of a predator, as for her parents.. $$$

I really don't get this post. What were these demons? He chose to do a lot of drugs and drink and chose to have a relationship with a schoolkid. These are not demons these are just selfish thoughtless choices. How do you believe this has made him a more rounded individual? Do you recommend this behaviour to everyone?

Rock stars and entertainment types generally screwing underage girls was, well par for the course in the 70s (Jimmy Savile et al say hi). It was a time of filthy interior decor and low sexual mores.

Still music and film was never better than in that decade, they were talented drunks, addicts, predators and laissez faire entrepreneurs.

Yes. Clearly that's what I meant. Or not. BTW the very definitions of demons are selfish thoughtless choices.

    Such a crock of shít.

Especially the last bit. Hedonists and their reformed brethren are often as tedious as Mass.

It's about perspective, the person that does only the right thing (which is basically doing as you're told) doesn't have the information that someone who has tried doing it the wrong way has. It's the same in engineering, you often have to do it the wrong way to find the right way of doing things.

someone who has made mistakes knows what the wrong side of the tracks is like, what the people are like, the path that takes you there and the road home, they have the experience that others don't. The person that only did as they were told can only guess. They only follow the course laid out for them and don't know that any other way is better or worse.
