Historic places around the county

I was hoping people could let me know of any historic places or buildings around the county. They can be anything, an old mill, a rath or fairy fort, a significant lane, a places where something important happened. Anything really that has history or a story attached to it.

Thanks for that Navarre. That covers most of the big ones. Still very interested in some others too. For example the Folly that's down around Cushinstown, things like that.

Every townland has it's own history, every field even.. I think you should concentrate on a smaller area, maybe your immediate locality. Go to local library and see what's been written up in the past, ask your neighbours etc.
