Hopefully Bono will bring as much good fortune to Pat as he did to Tubridy on being his first guest.

It is very noble of Bono to interrupt his mission to save Africa in order to lend gravitas to the funeral.

Bono always sounds a bit "under the weather"

When he spoke about avoiding paying taxes, I thought that was part of the introduction for Bono.. :D

Bono sounds like Jim Sheridan, it's a bit early for him.

Not overly impressed that the first interview is a pre-record. Quite lazy really.

Bono talking about modesty, I didn't see that coming. Not his own mind you, but unexpected nonetheless!

think this is the calm before the storm as that intro on yates was pretty hard considering he'll be seeing the guy everyday as his show ends and pats begins.

also yup sounds a little different, but then again he could just be happy !

    :D

If you are going to get a world superstar as your first interview you really shuold make sure he is awake first. Poor old Bono sounds like he was sound asleep 5 minutes ago.

I was thinking more Brian Cowan.

Audio quality not good, as usual with NT though, and audio level much too low in comparison with other stations.

    And it's a pity they're in mono.

I never usually listen to NT, but this morning the technical standards are annoying me.

I was never a big fan of Seamus Heaney's poetry.

But he seemed like a nice man. RIP.

Agent Kenny is trying to bring down Newstalk from within. After 40 years service for RTE this is his final mission.:)

Bono read a Heaney poem, and then quickly manged to turn the conversation back to him.

I thought they would have put that on the ad for the show..

"Tomorrow on Pat Kenny's new show, we will be interviewing Bono from his bed after a heavy night on the sauce... "

Newstalk not working on internet, well done guys

Sean O'Rourke just went to an ad break - Pat's audience will shoot up now!

So first up Bono who bleats about charity and then skips the country to avoid paying taxes.
And then Ivan Yates who whinged so much when the gambling taxes were brought in.
