Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Impossible to be worse than Healy.

The lack of talent is in direct proportion to the size of the ego. Could he (in admittedly a very competitive environment) be Ireland's worst broadcaster.

Think you've a crush at this stage to be honest.

Steve Cortez on this morning. Somewhat of a proponent of Trumps approach in dealing with immigrants in to US.

But of course this thread is still about trying to determine just how bad the presenters are and next week we'll have posts again saying how it's only ever liberal voices on Irish radio.

I am shocked. How was that man allowed on the radio. He must have gone on an outlier. His producer was probably shouting into his headphone. "What the **** are you doing?"

Jesus Christ man. Kenny, Hook, and even Moncrieff regularly have conservative guests on their show, Healy had a different Trump apologist yesterday. And nobody gives a watery sh1te, except people who need to pretend it's a huge deal and an incredibly rare occurrence to help them cling to this stupid narrative of a liberal-fascist media cabaal unrepresentative of it's public.

I've been reading this horseshít about the liberal media elite and how they're going to get a right shock from real, conservative, un-PC Ireland for the guts of the last decade. During which time we've voted in marriage equality, abortion rights, and a gay taoiseach. Adopted some of the most progressive gender declaration rights in the world. The leftiest main party has consistently made gains and will probably be in the next government. You're living in a fantasy world.

Up to some rascally cantankerousness or another in the greater Dublin area I assume!

To go back on track. Pat Kenny is far too professional to be as partisan as that clown. Healy seems to really believe that the listeners care what he thinks.

Lol exactly! Just for having an opinion on personal responsibility he was driven off his is weekday show by a lot of his progressive colleagues including the gimp Healy and the usual social media progressive mob!

Cuddihy isn't a bad presenter but he's a bit dismissive of texters who don't agree with him.

In that he is the same as the Breakfast lot.... Their reaction to the recent Macron "interaction" with a spectator [get a degree and a proper job, and address me as Mr President], was greeted by "good on ye" and it should be addressed to all our politicians.

No reaction to (presumably) the anti texts....

Jesus, anybody but Jonathan Healy. Literally anybody.

Their Friday sit in today (Catherine Noone, Stephen Donnelly, Joan Burton) was basically just the and Healy sitting around agreeing with each other. There was zero objectivity.

Yes, even if you agree with them, isn't it much more interesting when there are different viewpoints, each arguing their point, rather than everyone agreeing. Marian Finucane's programme suffers from this as well.

Ironically, Trump is the direct economic opposite of Thatcherism and it's associated neo-liberalism due to his belief in tariffs etc. He has more in common with the economic nationalism of the 1930s and the early British Labour party rather than the right.

Firstly, there are many flavours of "right". Every unhappy family is unhappy in its own way, etc. (Unless one is a recycler of those "of course, Hitler was liberal Democrat" memes.)

Secondly, Trump has -- in his way of saying three incompatible things before breakfast, as angrily and unqualifiedly as possible-- a rationale for why he's "really" a free-trader. See, other countries have tariffs and trade barriers, or are otherwise "not being fair", in some manner he's happy to wave his little hands regarding. Thus, tariffs are just a proximate remedy for this, not something he believes in, as a matter of principle. (This last part, at least, is actually true. He doesn't have any principles.)

    a gay taoiseach
Gay and half-Indian, indeed. Surely the massive landslide to The National Party in a shocked backlash can only be a short time away!

Being NewsTalk's most PC presenter is quite an achievement in such a competitive environment.
