Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

The message on these protests seems to me to be mixed.

Don't protest as its against Covid Regulations on St Patrick's Day.

But you can Protest today even though its against Covid Regulations.

I feel sorry for the Gardai policing these protests over the next couple of days. Not because of the potential violence from some in the anti lockdown protest, but the absolute head wreck of having to engage with Ruth Coppinger today...God bless their patience.

Jean McConville too. But, let’s be honest, it must be fairly trying to be “lectured” by members of a party with such a questionable history, both recent and past.

I thought Leo carried out a decent performance this morning. It would have been worse if he hid away from media this week so I think it was wise to face it head on.

The only baffling part was when he tries to say our lockdown wasn't strict compared to Europe if measured in terms of shops being closed. Surely we are top or close to top in terms of lockdown across all or any metrics used to measure. I can't really think of anyone who's had as tough of measures over the past year as us apart from maybe Greece.

I agree, and SF hypocrisies comprise of a list longer than my arm; nevertheless, it's laughable that he "wasn't going to bring up Sinn Féin". Most of us don't care about Sinn Féin, and wouldn't vote for them anyway. An active garda-investigation is above political rivalry, and shouldn't be approached in that manner.

I think it was a good PR move, and a lot of people will buy what he was selling. He did well.

These are the kind of (vulnerable) kids we should hear more about on radio...and not the frequent recent talk about the 'poor' young people who can't socialise, exam stress etc. because of covid.

I laughed at the cyclist who said he can't cycle more than 5km. What a plonker.

The hardcore cyclist is a strange animal. They think the world should be built around their hobby and this is coming from someone who occasionally cycles, albeit as transport to get from a to b, not as a sort of fitness fetish.

Pat breaking out his “pi r squared” to work out the total circumference of the 5km loop. Which I’m sure he’d already worked out last year.

But the cyclist has a point. What harm is he doing if he cycles the whole of Dublin if he never comes into contact with another person? I'm not a cyclist but if I was I'd be cycling to where ever I wanted.
