I thought there was a problem with the stream, until Pat started talking. I guess the procedures she's been though have affected her voice.

so why listen if you don't like it? are you seriously suggesting that because you dont like mcwilliams, you think pat kenny shoudl not "start" the show with him? Woudl you allow himon so long as he didn't "start" it with him?

Take it easy, I'm a great admirer of Pat in general, I would just prefer if radio stations didn't always go for the obvious. It's like when there's some celebrity scandal thing going on in the UK, they always wheel out Max Clifford, or used to. I'm sure there's loads of interesting people at Kilkenomics that we haven't heard a thousand times before.

In fairness, David McWilliams is one of the organisers of Kilkenomics, I would imagine that is why he was on first.

Indeed. He deserves to be on from that point of view.

However, I can't stand him, so I turned over to Sean while he was talking. Unfortunately Sean had a recording done in a barber shop, and all you could hear was the buzzing of the clippers.

I turned back and heard whoever the comedian he had on was (anyone know?). Seemed pretty good to me.

What makes you think I am not taking "it" easy? What an odd thing to say.

It's bizarre to not have the organiser of the event on air when the event is hosting the PK show. If you think he should have been either not started with McWilliams, or even should not ahve had him on the show at all, it would have been kinda rude for the PK Show to be hosted by the event, and not invited the events organiser and one of the subjects specialists on the show.

Property rights of way being discussed at the moment, something Pat has a bit of practical experience with :)

Pat's looking at property rights? Better lock my gate so.

While I hate to be a negative person, I just laughed out loud at PK before turning off the radio and goint to LBC on wifi. Announcing an article where Fionn Davenport was to tell us all about Freddie Mercury, Pat said that Freddy "struggled" for many years with his homosexuality. Thats the bit that made me laugh out loud as I've never known someone who struggled less and who embraced and got on with it and enjoyed it.

The reason I turned off is that I simply can't bear Fionn Davenport;'s voice or tone, and from listening to him on other topics, I really don't think he has much new to tell me about this or any subject.

Rant Over - james O'brien on LBC is actually interesting and a better decision.

I'm not a big fan of these pre-recorded monologues in general. Pre-recorded interviews are fine, as it's perfectly understandable that it's not always possible to have someone available for a live broadcast interview, but just someone reading out a pre-prepared piece (peppered with the odd sound bite) doesn't sit well with me. On what is ostensibly a chat show, I'd prefer to have a more interactive format all the time instead of these monologues.

A phrase guaranteed to get me 'moving the dial': "Cecelia Ahern, good morning and welcome."
I'd imagine Pat thought he'd finished with this sort of much when he quit the LLS.:P

I moved the dial myself when I heard she was the next guest. No doubt Pat will ask how her poor dad is going after surviving his traumatic attack last weekend. Lol.

One of these guests sounds exactly like David McSavage's "Uachtarán for Life" character on The Savage Eye!

It's been working fine for me for months. What makes you think it was the livestream that wasn't working?

For what it's worth…..I was having difficulty with the live stream too, on my iPhone and on my mac.

two days of the breakfast show instead of the pat kenny show being played.

and it skipped out again just now.

a simple reload sorted it. theres definelty something up with their player. im not having any of these probs with todayfm and its the same software.

I've found their livestream via their website is pretty shaky, constantly dropping, stopping etc. However I've been listening on an internet radio the last week or so and it has been rock solid.

Have you guys tried listening via TuneIn.com rather than the Newstalk website itself to see if it makes a difference ?

bit late for the spiel on the German banks and how reckless they were. That was nicely swept under the carpet for the last couple of years
