Simiultaneous literary interviews, you have to say Sean sounds more genuinely interested.

It's in the Latest Podcast section of the below link:

    Podcasts | Newstalk

You can notice a number of Kenny's speech-patterns and his exaggerated enthusiasm, but I would expect more from a professional mimic. Is it possible that he wasn't told in advance?

I thought so too but when I flicked back Pat was thanking Mario Rosenstock, don't know who he was 'doing' though...

Actually sounded more like a young(er) Gay Byrne if anything.

    Jesus,now I'm showing my age!

I would have thought that disparaging another game would not be the best way to promote GAA. Both have merits, and many enjoy both.

Bertie Ahern! Waffling about all the good work he did for the peace process. FFS! He shouldn't be allowed on any radio show unless he agrees to answer questions about corruption and the economy.

Is today really the day for that type of interview?

I'm sure it galls people but in fairness to Ahern & Reynolds before him the talks that led to the peace in NI would have staggered & stalled long before now had they not been the negotiators they were at the time. Even seasoned British politicos were astounded at the level of vitriol & personal abuse hurled at them in the early days by the Unionist side.

I just heard a snippet of some poor mouth GP telling us about the 24x365 service they provide.......
Since when can you contact your GP out of office hours?
I was very disappointed that Pat did not pull him up on that one.

I've just had to remove 13 posts going into a discussion about GP opening hours, Ahern, politics and property developers in general which is very much off topic to the discussion of Pat Kenny's Newstalk show that spawned it. If you wish to discuss politics I recommend you use the Politics forum as it's a more suitable venue for such discussions. Thank you for your understanding and please don't reply to this post on thread.

Newstalk are a private company, that's their prerogative.

How do you know it's free?

He has s hotel and guesthouse, see no reason why he would get such publicity for free.
Newstalk I suspect give very little away.

Gay Byrne talking about himself in the first third person. He's a pain in the ass when it comes to road safety.

Do you mean the in the Third Person?

As in: "Gay Byrne loves money and will never, repeat never, retire" said Gay Byrne.
