Or maybe the present flash went to the future through the singularity and caused thawne problems.

Does anybody think Eddie being pulled into the singularity has significance....i.e. he somehow survives in a different timeline, allowing Reverse Flash to be created - just not in current Flash timeline?

Perhaps Eddie being left by the gang, Iris & Barry and their inevitable relationship is what makes him and all his ancestors hate him....I'm just jabbering here but still, let's get some weird theories going, time travel is bananas :pac:

why does Thawne hate the Flash? Going by this episode, he's not born for another 136 years (if at all now). I take it that it's a future Flash that Thawne actually hates, but thought that by killing Barry he would stop the future Flash happening?

Thawne traveled through time to get Barry's autograph ( being a flash fan). But Barry was busy and pulled a Lionel Messi on him.

    Thawne just lost it. :pac:

The scene with Barry and his mum.... RIGHT IN THE FEELS

As regards the timeline..... WHAT THE FOOK
If Eddie killing himself has a direct impact on Reverse Flash, why did it not have a direct impact on everything RF did, and thus the entirety of the show?

I'm glad I watched that alone there was a lot of dust..... yea... dust in the air during one scene

Talk about an epic finale I could have watched another hour easily

Any ideas as to why future Flash told him not to save his mother?

Possibly he had already tried it at some stage and knew the outcome would be bad.

Flash from the future knows more about the pitfalls of time travel.

Also Future Flash ( and Barry in the instance) knows that being the flash is probably better than anything he could accomplish if he changed the timeline

** Removing Spoilers from the quote as it relates directly to what we've seen, but feel free to re-add them if needed mods? :) **

Yep.. exceptionally well done. Got a bit misty-eyed for a sec myself :o

Yea that was my first thought too!! I've watched enough Star Trek to know that when a character is erased like that, everything they did is erased as well and the timeline resets - eg: in the TNG episode "Tapestry"
where Q gives Picard the chance to change the past by not getting into a bar fight and getting stabbed through the heart... but as a result he becomes a meek Lieutenant, not a strong Captain. When Q let's him change things again.. all those events are undone and the original timeline restored.

    But in that case...

    - The original Wells isn't killed by Thawne
    - Doesn't create the Accelerator in the present time
    - Doesn't lead to Barry becoming The Flash
    - None of what we saw this season happens

So, why after Thawne vanishes does the timeline not instantly change to what it would have been beforehand?

I'm confused!! :p But very impressed! Definitely my highlight show of this season.

The corset appears to fit Caitlin well.

Was thinking that the whole episode was a buildup to the time travel yet he didn't change anything after all that, and caused a lot of fallout.

But great episode with a hell of a cliffhanger, though dunno what he plans on running on to stop the singularity. Just debris?

    Unexpected cameo from Hawkgirl

Be funny if they started using the multiverse in a way like "This is the CBS universe and "This is the movieverse" and start going all DS9 Tribble episode on them

Also, did anyone else think Barry arriving in the past sounded very like the DeLorean time travelling?

Can someone explain the hat being thrown through the wormhole? Also surely Eddie killing himself, which was completely and utterly out of the blue, means that Wells stays the person he was, because he was never killed

    THIS!!!

The wormhole was access into the speedforce, the line of time past present and future, the silver hat belonged to another Flash and it must have fallen off of him at that exact time, there would be others running through the speedforce.

As soon as Dr Stein told Eddie he was the only one of all the characters personally in control of his future the scent of impending doom should have been obvious.

    ^ This

Once that happened, i knew one of two things. Either Eddie was working with Eobart to make a name for himself in history, or Eddie was going to sacrifice himself to be a hero. Up until he shot himself, i thought he was going to be working with Eobart, but i won't say it came out of the blue.

It will be intersting to see how they deal with he original wells. Why are people coming to he conclusion that he will be alive.?If yer going by that logic then everything evil Wells did from creating the flash wouldnt have happened either so don't see how people are saying the original Wells will be alive.

It was announced that he will still be a regular is season 2. Also Due to time travel (in season 2) Barry will be able to go to different times.

when Barry was going super fast, and seeing the different timelines, was anything else required for him to travel through time? Was the hydrogen particle purely to create the wormhole for Eobart? If it was purely for the wormhole, why didn't he just ignore the particle bit (and potentially ending the world). Sure, it means breaking a promise to Eobart, but so what?

He will be in alternate timelines. The current timeline will stay as it is im sure story wise anyone that's died remains dead in the current timeline but can appear in alternate timelines.

Think of Back to the Future when Biff gets the sports almanac. When Marty goes back Biff owns the casino and has killed Martys dad. It is an alternative time line. A paradox if you will.

Wells could have still crashed his car that night and killed his girlfriend or they will both be regulars on the show next season, I do think the new show(name escapes me atm) will start with Stein and Snart at the scene of the wormhole as both were at the scene.

What amazing final esp, not crazy about the cliffhanger but who cares when the rest of it so good. What a gut punch Barry not being able save his ma, but a least getting to say good-bye to her.

great finale, anyone who was thinking of not returning for season 2, is now definitely gonna return for season 2 :D:D

i was laughing at one particular piece of writing, when they said singularity and caitlin asked what was a singularity, jesus like, who proof read that line :pac:

although it was a great finale, i didnt see the point of caitlins wedding, seemed very abrupt and out kinda broke the focus of the episode,

I thought they did it because Barry was about to rip apart history as they knew it and they wanted to get married before the potentially didn't exist anymore....

I thought they did it because Barry was about to rip apart history as they knew it and they wanted to get married before the potentially didn't exist anymore....

Now that you mention it, was it not a bit selfish in the first place for Barry to back in time. The world could have potentially ended due to his actions, and he got some very sound advice from his father. Advice that he looked to be accepting.

But then Iris comes along and says along the lines of it's about time you did something for yourself.....Even at the risk of global extinction.

Good old Iris, always failing to see the bigger picture. :pac:

Risking the entire planet is totally worth having a 60 second conversation with your mother. I mean, I'm surprised they all werent totally on board with it. Only a selfish person wouldnt be okay with Barry doing it.............................................. :P

Yeah the only person Barry listened to was himself in the end.

    Only after Iris fantastic advice:

    *Paraphrasing:

Barry: What do I do Iris
Iris: Do whatever it is you have to do for you

    Wut?!!

But she never lets him do what(who) he wants to do.

Anyone else go back and watch the original series.
I vaguely remember watching it when I was younger but I thought it was a movie, as I only saw the pilot.
Must have been a pirate copy, as I don't think it was on Irish tele.
