Hey guys, I'm considering buying an IMac soon, however, due to its price I'm wondering if I could get a similar spec'd Windows All-in-One for cheaper...

I don't know too much about computers, just the basics, I'm looking for a good quality machine for some college work like video and photo editing etc..

What I would require is an all-in-one with high quality processor, RAM size and Graphics Card. Preferably 24/27 Inch screen.

Could anyone recommend a good one? Or should I just get an iMac? Thanks in advance..

At PC Specialist, you'll get a 24" AIO with a quad-core i7 3770S, 8 GB RAM, Nvidia GT 750M and a 240 GB Kingston SSD for €1,207 (incl. OS, VAT and delivery to Ireland) ... that's 200 yoyos less than cheapest 22" iMac with a Core i5 processor and conventional platter HDD.

    (if you add €160, you'll get a multi-touch display)

And since processing power is a crucial factor for image and video editing, here is a benchmark comparison (CPUMark) between the various Core i5 processors currently used by Apple in the iMac and the Core i7 3770S.

    Intel Core i5 3330S (Apple): 5895
    Intel Core i5 3470S (Apple): 6257
    Intel Core i5 3470 (Apple): 6605

    Intel Core i7 3770S: 9097

There whole Windows 8 interface thing is another topic - try it out instore

Also check if the same app runs on PC and MAC, and see what the reviews are like for both
