I am considering purchasing a fairly new Kubota m108s tractor and am wondering has anyone any experience with such a tractor. The tractor will be used to pull a 1800 g slurry tank on the road, cut hay, spread fertiliser etc. on the farm.

I have heard good things about the kubotas especially that they are very light on diesel? I have a 12 yr old new Holland tl90 and hope the Kubota m108s would have more power for about same diesel? Any help would be appreciated

Brilliant tractors IMO - very good stuff in them and great power. The re-sale value of any Kubota tells all - they're always in demand.

Have you a Kubota? How do you find it on diesel?

They're very popular around here, neighbour has the older model m105, only gripes are the cab is small.

Quick update on me opinion...having changed a clutch pack with a neighbour on one of these...that looked like somthing you'd find on a ford transit van rather than a heavy duty diesel tractor one...clutch was shattered into a dozen pieces and was to say the least, not the most robust unit i've ever seen - somthing to consider if the tractor will be doing heavy work. It won't like it. At all..

How did you fare out with the changing after? We have a tl90 here too. We are in love with her though and find her an ideal stockman tractor to be fair.

    Hi Nuckingfacker

I'm a bit nervous now about a Kubota m108s. I had seen a lovely one with handy hours and tempted. However if the clutch is bad its not much use - had the tractor that you replaced clutch on much done....many hours, what type of work etc

My tl is grand but the cab small, want more power and a bigger tractor that wont be thrown around with a vacuum tank on the road etc as I do a good bit of roadwork but at the same time I want something reasonably priced, good on diesel and plenty of power. Im slow to go near any big fancy electrics/fancy machine. I want relatively simple with wet clutch and good on diesel

I was talking to someone and they said why not buy a newer tl100a or case jxu105 etc. They are bigger money than the Kubota and they still a small cab and tractor light enough

    Any thoughts?

Yeah, my views are totally reversed. The clutches are a deal breaker for me. Just pee poor IMO - loader work killed that one in a jiffy and seeing it split, I'm not surprised at all... I'm a Case fan, and I like John Deere - I get to buy tractors often enough for clients with deep pockets and I usually go for one or the other. I rate Case more highly pound for pound - very strong, durable machines IMO and less finnicky than the JDS. Jds are still a good machine though. Kubota, I'm gone right off till the clutches get beefed up.
