How to apply for Legal Guardianship?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone could help us out. My mother has travelled abroad with my little brother and I am left here with my little sister under 17 about to go college. I am a MSC student myself and I don't think ill have enough from my savings (from my summer job) to cater for her at xmas, Easter and Summer holidays when she comes home.Besides, my mother has made clear that she has left Ireland for good and we should be old enough to cater for ourselves. PLEASE HELP! MY SUMMER JOB IS ALMOST OVER. IS THERE A WAY I CAN BECOME HER GUARDIAN AND GET SOME SUPPORT?

Have you been able to get any support from your college like from the student hardship fund?

No, I cannot. Its a Masters Course and you are expected to fund yourself. Left to me, I will have enough to keep myself going but not with my sister in line and arranging for her college

It sounds like everyone is expecting you to. I can't believe your mother has done that.

She did. She said she was getting depressed as she didn't get a job and I basically had to fund myself through college.
