Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

As you can see from the below, there isnt much in the 87 to 90+ range left that I could sell without seriously weakening my first team. Sure there is some promising 85-87s in there but moving them on would mean putting <85s on the subs bench for D1 games ... Suicidal me thinks.
I think I've been fair enough with the number of players I've sold and the prices I've charged

that's how shít clubs get good players, normally anyway, the financial setup of this GW might make it different though
you need players for cup games, injuries, etc. that's why people don't sell them unless they're better off - in their eyes - doing it
why would you be going looking to make your squad weaker & playing 85/86/87's if your a 'better' team?
Strikes me small teams, when they go after them, can get younger players if they are smart with cash. Januzaj, one of Man United's brightest prospects, went to Anzhi in D3, despite there being 20ish teams in for him, many with more money. There's been quite a few younger players who have gone to smaller teams despite bigger teams being in for them. One thing the chairman does do well is give those small teams a chance to get in on the bidding of free agents.
And while I accept that they won't be able to buy 100+ young players like big teams, it strikes me that most aren't even shortlisting such players or even hunting them down. When I go looking for those risers, it's constantly the same 4 or 5 teams after them, and I don't think that's a financial issue; it's that a lot of smaller teams aren't playing the way you described.
While I can also accept the idea of keeping stronger players for cup runs, injuries etc (and remember I have said I don't think anyone should feel they have to sell, so if that's your reasoning, all power to you), I feel that there's still other reasons to sell.
Me, for instance....I sold a few of my bench warmers cause I knew they weren't going to rise any further than they were at. So I could sell them now and buy 2 or 3 88s or 89s with the same money. Granted, that weakens my second team....but then, I also happened to win not 1 but 2 of the knockout tourneys last season with that strategy
Meanwhile, if those 88s and 89s rise, I'll be on a profit. If not...I'll still likely make a profit since I bought from externals. And realistically, there's not that much difference between an 87 and an 88, or an 89 and a 90.
But more importantly, for me...selling those players I'm not using builds good relationships. I try not to send back "X player for Y player, Z player and 150m" responses to bids, and often if I get a decent bid for a player I don't use, or even just use as back up, I think "I can sell him and replace him, and in the process build good links to that club". That way, if that club has a player I want down the line, I've not tried messing them round, I've not clung onto a player for hoarding purposes...I've given them a fair and good deal that improves their team. And hopefully they remember that down the line
And, of course, the most important thing....if people feel they are getting good players, they'll likely stick round longer and that#s good for the GW as a whole. 0 -

Willow Murphy steered Estudiantes to victory against AZ.
Estudiantes beat AZ 4 - 2 in a thrilling Friendly encounter.
Zapata scored a goal and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.
Féret and Zoua were also amongst the goalscorers.
Unfortunately, I have a feeling that they may seek to get revenge when we play them tomorrow in the league!!0 -

on Halilovic i think you got the wrong league cause i bought him day 1 unopposed for 1M. think Mac was the only one who said he wanted him when i announced i got him for chips. (same with stipe perica)0 -

i said that you & the likes having loads of players is potentially as bad as me or whoever having a squad with stronger depth.
i said potentially because this is all based on your opinion that the GW is becoming stagnant
& yeah what kind of idiot would want to keep players from the best team in europe
i've 17 players rated 88 or higher & you've 14 - not a whole lot of difference
but you've pretty much said it in the last sentence - i play one way, you another, that's it0 -

i'm not singling out Bayern he's just the only one responding and i respect that but i just feel that the big teams in D1 aren't doing enough selling to keep smaller clubs interested.0 -
