I'm all for flashy colours, but some of that stuff looks hideous in the photos.
Best looking are the North Face (though it looks like an asics shoe) and the Scarpa.

Think I'll be sticking with my flashy blue & lime Inov8s for a long while yet.

love a bit of flash myself, but holy moley, the prices are more eye-watering than the colours. You can usually get the New Balance for a good deal less than the RRP. I got the original MT110 not long after they were out for 40 euros from sweatshop

I was just thinking the Roclite 295s that I favour looked pretty boring in comparison, a dull grey and black combination, and then I checked Innov8s website and see they've added some funky yellow flashes.

But I've also noticed they changed them from a 9mm to a 6mm drop. I find the current incarnation super comfortable, I do hope they haven't messed that up for me, although after several years of wearing them maybe I'll transition to the lower drop easily ?

AmphibianKingWest, any thoughts, have you guys received any press about the changes ?

    Just found this on google

That's a good review of the changes.

TBH I would doubt that you would notice the 9-6mm change in a trail shoe. I like the Roclite on account of it being so flexible relative to the Trailroc which I think is better suited to the hybrid type of trail running done in the 'Adventure' races.

Regarding colours and styles I like the newer funky colours and some of them have started to come through in the current season.

Pricing doesn't seem to have changed much, that I have noticed, the Saucony Peregrine converts across to a €120 RRP which has been fairly consistent the past couple of years.

The HOKA looks ridiculous & is priced accordingly :)

So the roclite 295 you'll get now in store, will they be the latest version ? Mine current ones are in a sorry state, holes everywhere.

Yes they will be the most current shoe, just checked Inov8 stock and there is a new delivery due into them on 9th Sept. There may be some of the previous style (9mm) in some of the stores if you were lucky with sizes. Uk 8.5 / 10 & 11.5 in Oranmore

Does any shop in the country stock Walsh PBs?

They seem to be that bit cheaper than Inov8s. Don't like the thought of posting over and back to Pete Bland till I find the glass slipper.

    No-one that I know of.

We've been asked a couple of times ( I do mean a couple) about them but the market for that as a specialist shoe is just far too small to justify holding them in stock.

I got the Saucony Peregrine 4 a couple of months back whilst visiting Portland Oregon. I must of tried on nearly every trail shoe in the shop.

They're very supportive and still give you the ability to feel the surface underneath you. In saying that I haven't done any serious km's in them yet, just up and down the back garden. Any of the hills I've been running on lately have had fairly hard ground due to the freakish summer we've had and I've stuck to an older pair of road shoes so I don't wear down the grip on them. I'm looking forward to a Autum and Winter of mud to give them a serious go.
