Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Friend moved into big house, got Eircom b/band and router, but there's an Airport Extreme (A1354) box lying there in the hall, can he use this to boost the signal throughout the house.
At the moment he has the eircom router at the south side end of the house, but the north side isn't getting wi-fi reception. I said put the Eircom router in the hall (centre of the house) and maybe it'll send the signal equally all over the house , but if not, will the Airport Extreme (A1354) box help and how should it be connected :confused:

The A1354 can broadcast a guest network at the same time as an existing network. Simultaneous dualband effectively allows users to set up two WiFi networks (one on 2.4Ghz band, the other on 5Ghz band) using a single Base Station.

    4 x etheret 10/100/1000 base-T connections and 1 x USB

Can the Extreme be setup to extend wirelessly? I thought you had to use it plugged in over Ethernet to send out a wireless signal, then use more Extremes or Expresses to extend.

'Fraid I'm still a bit lost -In simple terms, he's got numerous electric and phone sockets all over the house, so if he moves his Eircom router to the hall, and plugs in the Apple to an electric and phone socket upstairs on the landing, then it'll extend his WiFi network upstairs ??

I'd leave the eircom router where it is, put the Airport at the other side of the house and connect the two together using a paid of cheap powerline adapters.

Looking further at adverts, they all look fairly pricey, try PC world http://www.pcworld.ie/action/searchsite/powerline
