Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

I don't think you can. It will only work with an Apple TV box.Your only option would be to get one but don't tell the wife!

    Great thread title :)

Don't think it's possible without a box or cables however if it is I'd love to know.

You'll need a gadget in the middle to receive the stream and render it to the TV. I've a Synology NAS storing the videos. Part of the functionality allows a redirect stream using the Apps on the iDevice. This tells the synology to play the stream straight to the Samsung TV. The TV has a DNLA receiver built in and it's on the home network, it's not wifi though, so I run a cable to the router.

Well worth the €109, it will give you even more stuff for our smart tv. Definitely if you have an iPad it's great for streaming stuff. You can also see your photo stream directly on your tv.

    Cheers for the replies guys.

The thread title is making me laugh now.

Was thinking of switching from a galaxy tab 2, to ipad, but might give it a miss if wireless streaming is not an option.

Your wife would need to be fitted with the appropriate receiver, but chances are her two eyes might work.

Have a Synology NAS...how do you set that up ?

Ok here goes. Mine's a DS213, should be the same for you guys.

Synology setup with Media Server and Video Station. This needs to be accessible on the local network. See 1st Pic.
    iDevice running DS Video.
Samsung TV with media player functionality. (It's boring but it works)
Additionally I've a WDTV Live box, this renders better than the TV's player, more formats, includes screen art, and all the rich media info.

Open DSVideo, login to the Synology, find the show/movies etc that you'd like to play and click the player icon top right (pic 2).

Make your choice for the rendered stream (pic 3), I've got Home TV (Samsung) and WDTV Live. The end result is that the stream begins playback from that device.

If I've answered that for ya, great. If not, let me know what other details you need.

I'm going to see if I can get DSVideo to work using a popcorn hour media tank.
    Thanks for the post Tazium.
