Mercedes Key - 1999 CLK - Needs Reprogramming or New Key

    Hi,

    I have a Mercedes CLK 1999 for a number of years but recently dropped the key into water and now its not functioning correclty. I was give a spare key for the car but it never worked. I would like to get the spare reprogrammed so it works and possible buy a new key but they are MAD money. Anyone any ideas at all? I'd really appreciate it.

    W208 Mercedes keys are not re programmable.

    You need to order them from the dealer.

    Is it that the key won't start the car or remote lock/unlock the doors ?

    remote lock/unlock doors is a new battery.

    Won't start the car is wrong transponder in the key.
