The above side tells me Lennon starts in the NLD instead of Townsend.

Carroll, Holtby, Siggy and Townsend behind JD....you'd be expecting Defoe to get at least a couple. Also expect a lot of effort from him up front, he'll want to put his name in the hat for the NLD....I'm expecting him to shoot from EVERYWHERE!

2 nice finishes by Defoe, 2 up at a canter. Think Townsend is trying a little too hard and Carroll after a bright start hasn't finished the half too well. Sandro getting stuck in, needs to be careful not to get sent off!

Not a great opponent, but you can only play what's in front of you .... And we're doing it very well.

Holtby, Carroll and Sandro all playing really well.... I think Siggy needs to get wide and give us an option, it's two busy with three centre mids in the middle already.

I'd agree. Though I think Carroll would run him close. Sandro would be a close third - great to have him back!

Did anyone see Kabouls 80 yard dash up the right wing & into their box beating 4-5 lads who couldnt get the ball from him...hero!was dembele like close control & tekkers from the tank..

Although Carrolls Zidane turn was class too,,

Holtby was very tidy, he's spent his career on loan. I'd like him to stay if he could feature, it's a long season and we need players of his ilk. Kaboul looked bitchin. Glad to see Defoe find the back of the net, he played in some nifty passes also.

Didn't see the second half. Did Sandro and Kaboul play the full 90?

Holtby looks a perfect no 10, don't think we should send him on loan, he's good enough to rotate in for Cup and Europa games. It's amazing that along with our new signings we have a few youngsters maturing. The future looks absolutely awesome.

Tom Carroll was outstanding last night. He needs to be given serious consideration for a first team berth in certain matches. There isn't another player like him at the club.

Apparently he is being groomed as a first team next season , not this one but yeah he is a lovely player. Reminds me of modric

The draw for the groups is at midday. Knowing the hullabulloo UEFA like to put on at these things, we might get the first ball out of the pot by 4pm.
