Watching on RTE? Maybe they're on RTE Player?

Ye might have a look but the RTE player is just so bad and they only keep them each episode on it for so long.

    Live long and Prosper

    Peace and long life.

Episodes 2-6 are there. If only checked a few days earlier

So part of Ivy's age progression involved courses in botany and chemistry?

A six year old child could write a more cohesive story than the one being presented.

It's shambolic. So much back and forth, it's like they are just writing it 3 episodes at a time. There's no structure or overall season arc.

I am now convinced this is the Gotham writing team.

Good to hear it's not just me - the last few episodes have been poor - think I'll give up on it.

Shambles again. Nice Edward Scissorhands getup from barnes. How many times does the GCDP HQ get completely overrun. Very close to giving up on it, which is a shame as I love anything in the Batman universe.

Felt sorry for Chiklis being put in that get up.

It's more of the same. Gotham doesn't really know what it wants to be - gritty and dark (gordon and bruce), or Batman '66 rebooted (Riddler/Penguin etc).

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 7,018 ✭✭✭bren2001

I don't understand the pacing of this show.

Gothams back story has the potential to be a fantastic TV show. I've no idea what to describe this garbage as.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,767 ✭✭✭Ben Gadot

I thought last week was the finale. Lol. End this farce of a season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 8,543 ✭✭✭dublinman1990

Amazon have said the DVD & Blu-ray release of Season 3 will be the 28th of August.

Channel 5 on the other hand have not yet made any announcement about their showing of Season 3 which is a complete farce.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 60,912 ✭✭✭✭Agent Coulson

Unless I hear they have sacked all the writers and hired a new batch I won't be watching next season.

That might just be the worst season of ant show in the history of tv.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,773 ✭✭✭connemara man

Gotham is the biggest wasted opportunity of a TV show given what comes after it.

Far too much Bruce, far too much interconnection of characters, why the hocus ott science stuff needed to be in it I'll never know, Gordon the super cop right ok... Just all over the shop

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,767 ✭✭✭Ben Gadot

I enjoyed that finale, at the very least it was as good as ending to a poor season as we were going to get.

Bruce, Penguin, Selina and Jim are all nicely positioned to have the focus back on them and their motivations now that this rise of the villains horsesh1t has been put to bed.

It's likely the show is heading into its last season so hopefully they recapture the magic of season 2.

Since when did Hugo Strange turn into Sulu from Family Guy?

Why do they insist on rushing things so much? FFS, there could have been a great story arc with Lee for a load of episodes, Ivy dropped in and out for no apparant reason and as for the whole Fire and Ice thing, come on, they just reappeared out of no-where. They could have had a great series if they didn't rush everything, Ra’s al Ghul was only in for 2 episodes and the Lazarus Pit is just mentioned in passing.

I reckon they could actually end the show right there.
Taken in it's entirety, it is the origin story of how Bruce becomes Bats.
From here on out it could be just filler.
    Wayne Enterprises is Bruces now.
He has the city as his one true north.
Gordon is on his way, some day to have a baby girl called Barbara, for some reason....

I can see plenty who were unhappy, but I much preferred this season to the last one.

  • Moderators, Sports Moderators, Regional Midwest Moderators Posts: 24,008 Mod ✭✭✭✭Clareman

I don't have a problem with the series, it's the pacing and the wasted opportunities but there is some saving graces like saying that 90% of Gotham has been cured, that leaves loads of "freaks of the week".

With Supergirl, Arrow and Flash going well on the CW I can't see Fox cancelling their DC show, at 22 shows a series I can see it going another 2 series anyway to get to the magic 100, I know the 100 isn't as big a deal as it used to be but it's still a decent target to go for.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,061 ✭✭✭leggo

This season really gave way to its network trappings and the need for so many episodes with short-term plotting and dramatic twists almost every episode. I wouldn't give up on it, solely based off how well they bounced back with S2 from the first, and there was some brilliant stuff in this one if taken in a vacuum, but as a whole the series was a bit of a mess and that's a shame. The finale pulled it back a bit, but it felt for weeks that we were just killing time and doing unnecessary twists just to get to this stage.

Oh yeah, I meant to mention earlier, Morena Baccarin would be perfect if they ever remake The Adams Family

    Not on RTE player though.

Was there much of a delay between season 2 airing and it going on Netflix?

Was reading that Crystal Reed has been cast, who I'll happily watch.

And that's Crystal Reed of Teen Wolf fame. Not to be confused with Crystal Swing, which I'm sure would also be interesting.

Finally caught up. Comes across as solid TV to me. Gotham never felt like it promised anything more than it's been delivering.. and it is delivering.

I expect the chaos to continue next season! :)

Barnes jumping from the ceiling and decapitating someone was far too funny to be menacing. Honestly Gotham tells seasons worth of content in 3 or 4 episodes. Alfred found out Bruce was a clone way too fast. When Alfred said I'm a Butler and stabbed the hand it was again more laughs.

If you haven't seen the show yet when in Season 3. Some news for you about the apparent Channel 5 release in the UK.

The DVD/Blu-ray set will still be available for sale on the 28th of August. This is only days before the show is premiered on Netflix UK on the 1st of September, according to Netflix UK's Twitter feed, which means Channel 5 in the UK is not showing Season 3 at all.

So odd, C5 made such a big deal about getting the show. I guess the buzz has worn off it. It's better than what RTE does, hype a show up for a bit and buries it in a late night slot.

Rte ran the first four seasons of Person Of Interest and now they tell me they have no plans to show the 5th and final season! Oh well,it must be due on Netflix very soon!

Well it's back and it's the same old same old.

Why I keep watching I really don't know but I think it's very close to the end of me watching it.

Jim is a total pain in the arse and I predict he gets arrested again this season.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 29,313 ✭✭✭✭CastorTroy

I was planning on not watching this season. But since nothing else on at the moment, I watched the new episode.

When I first saw the gang leader with his face partially covered, I thought it was Steve Buscemi but knew it wasn't. Then saw the name Michael Buscemi in the credits. Can definitely see the resemblance.

    For that ending
Why take the mask off in front of criminals?

I did like Tabitha's top at the party

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,501 ✭✭✭✭Slydice

    *grin* Tabby Cat :)

    It feels right for how
they've been developing him so far. They've got him pretty much developing as a vigilante without much of an idea of how it's been done before. He's going in the batman direction but making mistakes and learning stuff along the way

I think I'd much prefer is Bruce went off to learn how to be Batman for a few years rather than having to watch him learn in Gotham

They should nearly do that with Jim Gordon instead of Bruce.
He seems to be a complete loonatic for someone who is a commissioner
