In fact the laugh also had a bit of Hamil (or I'm just imagining it)

    A really great episode.

This is the first episode for me that makes me think they can make this show work over multi seasons.

Don't know how I didn't notice before, but when Selina looked in the mirror, I realised she looks like Selina. Then realised it's because she looks so much like Michelle Pfeiffer.

A great episode. I loved the red mask device and how it almost became an entity of it's own. Looking at wikipedia I see the red hood is a 'thing' in the Batman universe. That kind of explains away once aspect of the episode I thought was completely stupid. Gordon points out that the red hood could allow the gang to continue indefinitely as long as someone had the red hood. Fast forward to the end of the episode. Gordon had the red hood in his hands and what does he decide to do? Butn it? Nah. Take it in as evidence? Hell no! He leaves it at the scene DESPITE his reservations about the chance of a crime spree continuing thanks to the iconic mask. FFS! That's just stupid, lazy writing. I'd prefer if a dirty cop removed it from evidence later or something.

Other than that it was a really strong episode. It's a dramatically stronger show now than the one we started with in September.

    Finally.. Mooney's eye... ARGH!!!!!!

Totally agree, the hood just left there on the street was extremely stupid.

Any chance that kid at the end was Anarky?

And what was Reggie's surname mentioned in Wayne Enterprises?

Listened again but not certain but did she call him Mr. Bane?

    Sounds like 'Payne' to me.

I even enjoyed Fish's side story. Stripped of hammey swagger and terrified taking serious drastic actions

Jeffrey Combs was great as usual

I seem to be going against the grain here but I thought the last episode was one of the worst. The red hood gang were completely pointless. I've no issue with 1 episode arcs but for the whole process, I just felt like it was building to a lot more than some kid picking up the hat at the end. Equally, when casing a joint, who wears their work shirt to it. Also, on the old CCTV on a CRT you would never be able to pick out writing that small. Stupid plotholes that are easily avoided. As a side point, do we know who the kid is?

The Fish storyline, while well acted, was simply ridiculous. Spooning your own eye out is absurd. It obviously made sense that she was not given her demands. I really wish they would just kill her off.

For the Selina stuff, I felt uncomfortable when Barbara was essentially telling her to use her sex appeal to her advantage. She is a kid and again, didn't feel this added much to anybodies character development.

However, the Reggie story line was very smart. The board do need to find out what Bruce knows and the only way into Wayne manor is through Alfred. I certainly didn't see it coming. Equally, the Penguin stuff is top notch as usual.

Fish was about to lose two eyes. One is worthless to DollMker.
    Drastic but makes sense

I understand why she scooped out the eye. However, damaging it would make far more sense, Dollmaker would not want a damaged eye and she would keep both eyes.

Maybe I am being too harsh on Fishes story line because I dislike her character.

Totally agree regarding Barbara though. Weirded me out, was getting a grooming vibe from it

Would it possibly be the start of where Catwoman realises using her looks helps? As in further in life, not right now that Cat is still a child, but for future reference. The Catwoman we know is all sultry and sexy, and as it currently stands Cat is still in the young rebellious stage, but will come to realise over time that looks can get her places. Maybe Barbera put that idea in her head now.

I felt they were badly hinting at a
    Birds of Prey
storyline and it turned out as you said.

...point is everyone that wears the Red Hood dies. The people that actually wear it are irrelevant, the Red Hood itself is what is important.

The Fish Eye Mooney is indeed absurd, but we'll see how they tie it into the mob stuff.

Or showing that it's the mask, not the person behind the mask, that's important. Wonder where they get this idea from??

I feel sorry for the actress that plays Barbara. what a useless character, and now slightly creepy.
Any theories on how Gotham would end? Smallville ended with Clarke putting on the red cape and flying but surely Gotham can't last long enough for Bruce Wayne to become an adult?

Not really about Bruce, I bet it ends with Gordon becoming commissioner or at least captain.

What the hell is going on this year? Gothams last 2 episodes not airing until 13/04 and 04/05, no Flash since 17/02 and won't be until 17/03, no Arrow since 25/02 until 18/03... Why can't they just release all the episodes weekly!!! And the apparent excuse for Gotham? Too much happened in the last 18 episodes. Yeah.

I doubt many people will be upset about that. Think that's pretty much one of the main ways people suggest to improve this show.

That's American shows for you. The kids channels are worse. Just have to look at the likes of the new series of TMNT which takes about a year to air a 26 episode season
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Teenage_Mutant_Ninja_Turtles_(2012_TV_series)_episodes

or Girl Meets World (yeah it's a guilty pleasure, since it's better than I expected)
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Girl_Meets_World
which started last June, aired episode 18 on Jan 16, Episode 19 on Feb 6 and Episode 20 airs March 27th.

The way your man who plays Gordan talks really annoys me, does he always talk like that?

Almost unwatchable now because I cringe on every sentence

when gordon got sent to arkham he became a bit of a better character, he was a little to nicey nice at the start, now he seems to be becoming a bit of asshole, but still a good guy, he was overly nice at the start and it just didnt work, i think season 2 will be when the show kicks into gear, season 1 while ok in the second half just hasnt really gotten going,

id rather not have that confirmed being honest, and thats a spoiler BTW

another good episode, i really want penguin to kill fish, and i expect that to happen, but id hate to see maroni die, hes been a great character, and think they still have a lot of room to improve him, id love to see what him and penguin could do together,

i like how they drag a case out over 2-3 weeks, unlike the CSIs that go through 2-3 case a week, its great to see the improvement on the show from the early episodes,

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,733 ✭✭✭squonk

Yes it really has improved. I did hear that Mrs. Smith iisn't back for Season 2 so fingers crossed it's true!

Because he was letting everyone know that he's done with the place in it's current state, and he's going to sort it out. It will also get him a few followers, those who needed someone else to stand up before they did. And to show that he's not afraid of them. Well, that's what i reckon anyway.

Not really as he's got dirt on Loeb. Loeb can't go after him by the book, that's why he's gotten underhanded with the Ogre.

Solid episode again and an interesting development with Selina. Bruce will feel responsible now for the actions Selina takes in the future.

She got her hands dirty for him and that's why Bruce will be soft on Catwoman in the future. Nice work by the writers who get enough grief.

weirdly enough I kind of like the Ogre character- creepy backstory and the peter petrelli actor is playing him pretty well. Its funny how they keep throwing radically different storylines at Barbara hoping something will make her interesting but she is just a spoilt rich kid. Since she can't die I hope they find something for her to do but still also keep Morena Baccarin around .

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 789 ✭✭✭mafaa

episode 20, finally some Ogre's backstory but still nothing on what make him a serial killer of women

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,812 ✭✭✭lertsnim

What on earth was happening on the stage at the Fox Club. 2 people, a pig and a chainsaw from what I could make out.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 208 ✭✭Stillhouette

It really did leave a lot to the imagination. The look of horror on Bullocks face when he saw what was happening was priceless. I am hoping Fish is gone because we haven't seen her since she was shot. If she dows appear gain then hopefully it is so Cobblepot can do something horrible to her.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 4,216 ✭✭✭Sudden Valley

Gordon laughing and joking with his new girlfriend after his old girlfriend had a hand in killing her parents is a perfect example of how wacky a show Gotham is. I hope they now make Barbara a twisted serial killer.
