Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Looking forward to the interpro's this year, should be interesting. Leinster clear favourites I would say, they have dominated this age group as they came up, especially at U18 level.

Is Robb underage for Connacht this year or is he finished age grade rugby?

Are Leinster not clear favourites every year?!

Hasn't been signed up exactly. Is presumably just playing 20s with them. Good moves for all if not going to be involved in home provinces

Hard to say will depend on college choices...

Bantry are now a j1 team and they are playing junior division 3. He could end up playing dual status as well playing 20s with con etc and play with Bantry

Its not shocking rugby and you'll learn plenty from a season of it. If he played that for a season then moved to play 20s he'd learn lots

Another player who really impressed this year. Could be a great ball playing 12(had the skills to play 10 this year, has the size to play 12) looking forward to seeing him at 12 and power from blackrock at 13 in the future.

Power is great player.Im surprised Leinster didnt take him into the academy this year. They took Brewer and O'Loughlin instead.

Brewer and o'loughlin left school a year ago. Generally they don't take players directly from school if they can avoid it.(exceptions do happen Byrnes, coughlin, etc) he is one who really impressed in the SCT last year. Be interesting to watch his progress.

The 'rock loose-head is up with Ulster. Think he's from there so not surprising.

Timmoney was a good player but nothing outstanding. Loath to be critical of young lads but I don't think there would be any need to snap him up. If he performs at 20's level they could sign him then.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,257 ✭✭✭Hagz

A lot will depend on next year, but I would like to see a chance taken on him. He reminds me a lot of Jordan Coghlan. Very athletic player.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,758 ✭✭✭RedemptionZ

Timoney could make it, he was the standout player in a very strong Blackrock team. His size is the only thing that may keep him out. 6'2" isn't outrageously small for a backrow but it's not ideal. I've heard 6'1" thrown about with his name which would make it even more difficult if true.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 9,257 ✭✭✭Hagz

6'2 isn't ideal, but sure Jordi Murphy is 6'2 and he's proved to be a very valuable player for Leinster.

  • Registered Users Posts: 1,405 ✭✭✭FrannoFan

The Andrews number 8 is a more suitable athlete(6'4 or so) and had a good campaign. In a better side he would have stood out. Not from as reputable a school so less likely to get noticed.
Mcveigh from clongowes was another 8 who stood out.
Timmoney was good but not exceptional.
