Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

Can anyone recommend a good toning shampoo such as the Joico Violet Shampoo? found it great, but want to know if there is a cheaper alternative?

Clairol shimmer lights is amazing but hard to get so you would have to buy online, I used to get mine from pakcosmetics.com

It is £5.99 for a 473ml bottle and just checked the shipping cost and the cheapest option is £3.10 for one bottle so not sure if that would work out cheaper than the Joico or not.

I wouldn't bother with the conditioner but the shampoo is brilliant, I loved the formula so much that even when I went back dark I still used it every so often.

Thank you. It probably works out the same but will look at more reviews to see if anyone considered it better than Joico.

Tbh I've tried a few and I always go back to the Joico one..it is the best! Worth that bit extra I think. Plus it doesn't need to be used *that* much so it always lasts a while.

I recently dyed my hair blonde and have been using a touch of silver so pleasantly cheap and has really been doing a great job! I dyed my hair from brown so it was quite brassy and really needed a good toning and since ive used this people have commented how much blonder my hair is looking :) I bought the shampoo for 4 euro and the conditioner for 3 :)

Here is the website i got mine in my local chemist but i am pretty sure boots stock it.

That's actually the one I'm using as my joico has run out! Ya I went from dyed dark brown to blonde aswell but I'm only after 2 courses of highlights so its still brassy enough toward the ends! I don't find it very good but I think that may be because I'm using the daily maintenance one, is the proper one better?

I'm using the twice a week brightening shampoo and the intensive conditioner and finding it really good :) maybe the maintenance is better when you finally get the colour you want?

Yes thanks very much ill pick then up tomorrow because they're cheap enough to be fair. If not ill have to go back to joico. Do you find you have far more split ends than before ?

Oh yeah but i guess that is just part of the process of bleaching your hair it's always going to be a lot more frazzled. I use a good shampoo and conditioner for dry hair in between the touch of silver.

Did you have to cut your hair up? Mine was at the small of my back but it's just below my bra strap now I suppose. I know ill have to cut more :(
