Apologies, I know this has been done on boards.ie already but I can't find the thread.

How can i extend the life of mach3 razors? I think I saw a thread which said there was a little gadgety thing that one can use. Any help is much appreciated.

Get rid of it and get a de kit.

Better shave & far far cheaper

Think this is the yoke you're looking for -

They also say that running your blade along a pair of jeans does something similar. Google it ->

I'm actually looking at DE kits on 4men.ie now. I'm also thinking of going with a straight razor but the maintenance and my general unfamiliarity with them is putting me off. I know there're plenty of videos online but I'd like more direction before putting a blade to my face.

Thanks thats exactly what i was looking for! The denim trick sounds interesting too. Do you use a razorpit by any chance?

DE is so simple & a pleasure to shave. I've actually cut shaving by half since I started using one. Gonna order a straight sometime in the future to try

Go for it!! It isn't that hard to learn, and maintenance is minimal really. You can get away with a strop and say paste on balsa for probably six months to a year before you need to think about full rehoning if you are careful and getting a straight rehoned isn't expensive and is easy to learn to do yourself.
