Hi all! We have been experiencing an issue on site where threads have been missing the latest postings. The platform host Vanilla are working on this issue. A workaround that has been used by some is to navigate back from 1 to 10+ pages to re-sync the thread and this will then show the latest posts. Thanks, Mike.

FOOTBALL! IT'S BLOODY FOOTBALL AGAIN HURRAH!

Moyes' first "competitive" game in charge. What will happen? Who will play? **** knows... I'm going to play it safe and predict a 4-0 scoreline. :D

    I'm super excited.

0-1 to Wigan, commence forum meltdown.

    Finally.... actually football :D

OK maybe its only a glorify friendly/pre season but it feels like more ,,

    Come on Utd.
    In Moyes we trust :)

Oh the relief of actual football taking place is sweet. Like an above poster said, glorified friendly but still, Wembley and silver ware on offer as well as an annoying summer of bogus headlines makes it exciting. It also means a week away from the real stuff.....Happy Days!

    3-0 United (RVP x 2, Zaha)

Giggs and Zaha on the wings in a 4-4-2 or Zaha and Welbeck out wide in a 4-3-3?

Looking forward to seeing Jones at CB.

There was a game in pre season where he played van Persie as the number 9, and Zaha, Kagawa and Welbeck interchanged behind him. Could see something similar with just Giggs in for Kagawa.

    Giggs in midfield, motherfúcking lol.

Moyes picking up the trolling where Feguson left off.

Yeah that giggs is useless. Never does anything good.

    Oh wait.

He's probably played as well as anyone pre season.

No Kagawa in the starting team

Oh right, so you two are happy that for the first real game of Moyes' tenure his midfield option is Ryan Giggs?

Nice one, must be grand to live like that. Everything's rosey in ManUtd R D Greatest OK! land, stop slagging de players.

Welbeck has had a decent amount of game time during pre season, I'm expecting him to do well today.

Cool, you're not unhappy that Giggs is a first choice midfielder. Grand stuff.

Looking forward to this. Let's be honest the real football starts next Saturday but nobody wants to lose at Wembley when there is silverware on offer.

I'd be more annoyed at the lack of Kagawa if I was a united fan.

Zaha should be interesting to watch though.

Subs: Lindegaard, Evans, Anderson, Smalling, Valencia, Kagawa, Januzaj.

I'd be more annoyed at the lack of Kagawa if I was a united fan.

If I'm right, Cleverly is the only starter from the game on Friday night, and even that, thats probably down to our lac of CM options cause it's not down to form. Once Kagawa started on Friday, good game or bad, he wasn't starting today.

mon the wigan. lol @ giggs starting for united. no better options than a 39 year old?

No but in fairness he didn't have the full preseason, hopefully we will be graced with his presence sometime in the second half.

    Giggs starting :'(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 19,389 ✭✭✭✭Liam O

So if RVP gets injured who plays as the striker?

Lack of Kag is annoying but Giggs has gotten more games under his belt so am ok with him being there.

People need to get it through their heads this is the Community Shield not the Champions League final. Also Nani and Young are injured and Tony V and Kagawa played most of the game on Friday night.

    Lol indeed.
